Thank you Nikio:happy: That is correct, while we do have auroras during winter too, then it does take part of the pleasure away to stalk auroras in temperatures below -20C. and they tend to be most powerful arund spring and autumn.
Nice photos Thomas! I’ve been considering trying to take some photos of the sky and the stars, but it always ends up looking nothing like I had ever imagine.
Thank you Frank, I ended up peeling the same way a lot in the beginning. At tripod and a camera with manual control of Aperture, shutterspeed and ISO will take you a long way.
Well the extremely dry and clean air makes for a way better visibility, plus being further north where artificial lights are next to non existant all helps.
But most of all we are closer to the pole and thus the solar winds and geo magnetic activity causing auroras has a stronger effect visually.
