Oli, you are partly right or often it feels that way, but spring has slowly arrived by now and the slopes been closed for at least a couple of weeks, so finally spring has arrived

one day i will visit the arctic to see the midnight sun, hammerfest for summer solstice maybe. the most northerly i have lived is orkney, which is a beautiful place too.

The orkneys sounds like a beautiful place from what I have heard.

Sounds good that summer has come to moscow Oli.
Up here daylight has concured the nights and we no longer have dark nights, they will return at some point in late july though.
I really must start planning for a trip to Russia.

Though with two scheduled visits to the US, multiple Copenhagen visits and at least one visit up north, this year seems a little packed already, which time a year is recommendable?

Moscow is fine in May. When the first leaves on trees are dismissed and gardens blossom. The early autumn is is final fine also. When trees are painted in all colours yellow, green, brown and red. The beginning of September - warmly also is not present rains! At us it is called "Indian summer".
