Thank you So much Theresa And as i do nto recall seing comments from you before, i would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to my tiny spot in the OC
Thank you! Yes, I just found your blog, clicking away in opera... I'm amazed by your pictures. I always wondered if I'd like to go to Greenland one day - apparently I have to do that
Thanks At this stage, though, I'm pretty busy going to Namibia whenever I can to help with some projects there. If you're interested: my.opera.com/theresainnamibia (that's my Namibia blog).
Yeah, I guess. But we're (my husband and I) going there now, i.e. in winter. Two years ago we started early in the morning after a storm came up from the South (that is from Antarctica) and our windshield was frozen. Quite amazing if you consider yourself close to the tropic of capricorn. This year, however, we don't go as far south, so woollen socks and fleece shirts should be enough How do you survive in winter in Greenland? I'm cold enough here in Germany!
I have a single mountain on that continent that I will need to see from the peak, but that is just one of many travel projects
Dressing right is the key, here like everywhere else, the dry air makes the temperatures easier to manage, but I never thought I would appreciate an expedition parka, the way I do during winter
I have a few German friends reminding me all the time I have not update my about page in quite a while, but yeah it is true. I am not from up here, I got the chance to move here a good 3,5 years ago. Simply could not pass up on that chance
I was told that there was a risk of that, but no I do not, while winters a cold and long, they are not as dark as one would imagine, the snow really brightens things up a lot. Winter nights are quite different here from in Europe and of course this is the time a year where we are graced with the amazing auroras
Not to mention the fact that i happen to like winter sports
Yeah, I could tell from some of your pics. > So, if there was a person to visit Greenland, what season would you recommend? Summer or winter? And do you know "Northern Exposure" a TV Series from the 90's? Although it's set in Alaska it could be quite funny for you
Ohh that question is soo tough to answer, my honest opinion would be both summer and winter, as it is like two different countries. Winter, has dogsledding, biting arctic winter weather and stunning auroras, while summer has some amazing hikes and the best views to the icebergs. Late August is probably the most interesting season, where you will get both the hiking, the most interesting glacier season and with a little luck some auroras too. I will do a google on that TV show

Quite a different climate, but sounds interesting.

From your about-page I got that you're not from Greenland, but living there. How come? Jobwise?
