Hi All,

Duploworld calling again:)
This is mostly a picture Update, it is late and New Year is closing in, why I will not go in much detail.
I did get a chance to shoot a lot of people shots and portraits which were a pleasure for a change:yes:
I have updated the Christmas Album, not all pictures there yet but here are a few samples for those in a hurry (I hope you will take the time to click the Thumbnails below:

My Fiancee at Lunch on the 23rd:

The promised 1900 hrs picture:
My sister with her new seal and silverfox mittens:

I have updated the Greenlandic Winter Pictures album, with a few pictures from Kangerlussuaq taken on the way home.

ANother Pleasant Surprise awaited me when i got home, my Pentax FA 50mm f1.4 lens, this classic of a lens is a real gem and looks very classic with its rectangular hood, at least to me.

And it produces beautiful Portraits: I love the sharpness and bokeh of this lens:

What have I forgotten to tell? Ohh.. I have been tagged, 3 times to be exact... Thank you soo much Ulie, Elke and SittingFox, I really do appreciate your compliments very much.

well the five unknown things:
1) I suffer badly from LBA (lens buying addiction) this post kind of spells it out.
2) I actually hate to fly, kind of strange is it not?
3) I used to be a very shy and quiet boy once ( but do not tell anyone, please:D)
4) I am a huge fan of classical music
5) I have two women in my life... miss Duplo you all know about (and my wonderful little sister:D)

My tags:
Allan - an Important part of my inspiration
Our Hungry Candian - I ove getting to know this wonderful forum to you
Richard - You have an unique eye for composition, I have learned a lot from you.
Andy - No presentation needed, The best animal photographer around in OC.
Loku - ANother famous OC member, you are an equally important part of my inspiration

I were only allowed to mention five, but the real list is soo much longer.

I still have not had time to set up that WPN sticky post, bit I will hopefully be able to do that tomorrow, now I want to go to bed.
The same goes or blog reading and editing a truckload of photos from the Christmas days...

Take care you all.

Thomas

Allanricewood Tuesday, January 2, 2007 8:35:11 PM

Hi Thomas - nice photos and christmas "tales" from Duploworld.

Thanks for the tagging. I appreciate that - even though it makes me feel strangely uncomfortable. I can´t really explain why - but have decided to stick with my gut feeling about it. Sorry about that.

I am looking forward to read your coming posts smile

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Wednesday, January 3, 2007 5:20:54 AM

Hi Allan,

Thank you:)
A new post comming up as soon as I have finished writing this and uploading a few photos.
A more texty update I might add:)

I am glad you appreciate it, not that it makes you uncomfortable though...
No need to apologize though, the tag from me wwere my way of saying thanks nothing more.

Thanks for being around.

Thomas

Hi Thomas, you are not alone in your LBA condition. I bought 3 last year alone although this year I think I might just get a 1.4x teleconverter, which is a sort of lens.

The Sigma 10-20mm I told you about is brilliant - fantastic perspective on things - my Edinburgh pics were taken exclusively by it in case you fancy a splurge on another lens!

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Sunday, January 7, 2007 9:57:28 PM

Hi PJ,

I have a feeling there is a lto of us LBA suffering people...

I have heard a lot of good about the sigma, I think I would go with the pentax 12-24 if I were to buy a zoom in that range.
Topping my wishlist at the moment:
Pentax FA 31mm LTD, Pentax DA 14mm, Sigma 20mmEX or Pentax FA 20mm Ohh not to mention the Pentax FA 77m LTD and the upcomming Pentax DA* 16-50mm.

Not that long a list is it?bigsmile

Take care:)

Peter Battypjbatty Monday, January 8, 2007 5:59:36 PM

Not at all, they're nice optics. I think with the next 'big' purchase I make, it'd have to be something like Nikon's 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR but I'll need a proper job to buy that one!

It's an expensive but fun hobby!

AyaGreen Aya Monday, January 15, 2007 8:29:37 AM

If I study and practice how to take a picrture, can I take such beautiful pictures?
Your fiancee always looks very beautiful in your picture.Maybe because of your photo skill plus your big love to her?

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, January 15, 2007 2:50:46 PM

Hi Aya,

Thank you for that wonderful compliment.
Well practise is what matters and of course learning to understand and use the technical part of it, how to manually control the camera.
But really the important part is the person behind and that is where practise comes in.

I am sure that why she does look beautiful is mainly due to her being very kind to the camera. my huge lvoe to her and camera skills are in that respect a lot less important.
If my love to her actually shines through, then I am more pleased than you can imagine.

THanks again and do take care:)

Peter Battypjbatty Monday, January 15, 2007 7:26:50 PM

Exactly right Thomas. It takes time and effort to move beyond just pushing a button to take a throwaway snap. Often I get hounded by people in my family for taking a bit longer composing the picture. Later they are happy I did though!

It doesn't matter a jot what kind of camera you have - my China pictures are all from a diddy Canon A75 (3 megapixel) yet I think they're not too bad. It's all in the eyes!

Keep sharing.

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, January 15, 2007 8:06:57 PM

Hi PJ,

I am so glad we agree on this... a lot of people seems to buy a camera in the belief that the camera will make them take better pictures.

A statement that is only partly true as the real key is practise. Yes better camera means more control but practise is the main thing.

You keep sharing too:)
