Copenhagen - The end - for now that is:)

, ,

HI All,

Well an all new Duploworld update for you all:)

The Copenhagen visit is comming to an end, or almost as monday is the day where we will be travelling back to Nuuk.

It has in many ways been a great trip, mostly because we got a lot of the business results we came for with us home. But also because it has been good to see family and friends again.

It also included a trip to Amsterdam and Frankfurt, both in business.. Frankfurt was a 6 hours visit and I never saw anything but the airport.

Amsteram was a little longer and gave me a chance to shoot a few pictures those are in the now updated "Amsterdam and Copenhagen" album

My father has recently acquired a dSLR as well. and I have had the chance to do not one but two walks with him. It was a pleasure seeing someone rediscovering photography, but more importantly to share these two walks with him. A unique experience to me and one of the best moments with him since I was a very small child.
On the walk we had today I decided to go with only a 50mm and a 105mm lens (two of my favourites) WOrking with fixed focal lenses is one of my favourite things... I only wish I had brought something wider:)

Now two walks should throw off some pictures and here we go (the four pictures has been taken on todays walk):

This is what I looks like when out and about with my camera, I was taking this Picture
It is the first time I am able to see what it looks like when I am out there taking pictures. Now you all know as well:D

Welll I am not going to chaet you all for the picture I was taking while sitting there... here it is:

Remember the Copenhagen teaser picture, well here is the same motive taken with a different lens and this time in colour:

Last picture is one I had to work hard to get, but the result was worth it I think.

Now do not forget to check out the entire "Amsterdam and Copenhagen" album... There are some pictures I like in there and hopeefully you will to:)

Well that is it for now... I am off for bed again...

Do take care you all:)

Thomas

A new toy (no not camera related this time:D)So many things to tell...

We lok a bit daft when we pass the time the (second)best way we know, don´t we? lol

Doesn´t matter, though - as long as the results are as brilliant as in this case.

Now aint that the truth Allan:lol:

And thanks for the nice compliment:)

Great pcitures Duplo

but is that the black bag you carrry round with your camera stuff?! faint

Well. No need to go to the gym. Was looking at cameras yesterday - in a mad look at cameras in case my present one dies...too overwhelming. Still torn between small and large.

Maybe I'll flip a coin...

Safe travels back to Nuuk!!

Hi Hungry one,

Thank you for the compliment:)

Yep that is my small camera travel bag. the beauty is that it has tripod straps on it. I have this one when I want to carry a bit more and this one for hiking... anyone said I suffer from CBBA too:lol:

Well it is all about choices and either one will have a set of trade offs, good luck picking a path:)

Take care

hungryghost Tuesday, March 6, 2007 11:09:25 AM

Hi Duplo - the bags....faint
so big and they look hevay too....

CBBA? What's that?

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Tuesday, March 6, 2007 12:47:50 PM

HI Hungry,

They are not heavy:)

approx 4-10kg all inclusive depending on which lenses and if flash and tripd are with me and which bag.

a quick guide to abbreviations:
LBA - Lens Buying Addiction
CBA - Camera Buying Addiction
CBBA - Camera Bag Buying addiction
TBA - Tripod Buying Addiction

I suffer pretty badly from the first one (I am at least 2 primes short of my "needs" for now, no wait... better make that 3... err 4 I think...lol)
The remaining 3 disorders are always lurking I guess but I can live with those... (however a new tripod and L-bracket would be a nice addition sometime soon)

Well we can all dream and well gear is only gear... it is as always the eye and having fun taking pictures that matters:)

Longish comment huh:D

hungryghost Wednesday, March 7, 2007 1:28:32 PM

thanks for the clarifiacation...4 - 10kg...hmmmm. that's pretty heavy by my standards...I don't even like carrying a wallet with cash in it bigsmile

Since I got my gorillapod last year, i dont' use any other tripods anymore...it's great!! bigsmile bigsmile

okay, back to my meetings now!

Hi Hungry,

Well if a wallet is kind of heavy, then I guess you are right:D

Gorillapods are soo great I think, at least for smaller digicams... DSLRs are a little to heavy for it.

Have fun:)

Hi Thomas,
like always: wonderful photos! It's worth the trouble, to hump your 4-10 kg photo bags.

hungryghost Saturday, March 10, 2007 9:58:59 PM

bigsmile

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Saturday, March 10, 2007 11:50:04 PM

I tried it, but my cam is too heavy:(

Well I have already hinted her that I need a more sturdy tripod, the one I want is almost 800, I would never ask for that from anyone...

hungryghost Sunday, March 11, 2007 6:41:57 AM

800! Does it make coffee too?!!

faint

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, March 12, 2007 2:40:09 AM

unofrtunately not, but it includes a nice custommade Kirk Lbracket and Acratech ball head and Giottos legs.

Unfortunately the coffemaker is not included, but would be a nice touch during winter:D
