Hi All,
Yep another Duploworld update rolling in:)
And there is no new lenses in this one;) but pictures in stead and a single question.
Now well for the pictures. All taken this Saturday, during my five hours walk to another frozen paradise, a melting water river located at the outskirts of Nuuk. It was a pretty dangerous walk as everything including the places I wre to walk wascovered in a thick carpet of sheer ice. But enoguh blabbering here they are:
Frozen river - part I:
Frozen river - part II:
A distant Harbour view:
Nuussuaq by night:
Now for the main question of this post it is a simple...
Why?
I live in place where nature is as stricking as anything I have ever come acroos, Why it so hard to respect it? care for it? do we have to destroy it?
Well no more ranting from me, do take care you all:)
Thomas

You are an artist with a camera, for sure

I've seen things like that all over the world, and even in my own backyard. I don't understand it either. One of my friends confronted someone who was dumping their own personal garbage out in the forest. He was told to mind his own business and there was nothing he could do about it. Then he went to the police and the fire station (it was a fire hazard) but they said it was out of their district boundaries and nothing could be done. Stupid people.

Great to have you around again:)
Thank you for the very nice compliment, I appreciate it a lot:)
Yes that last one is a litle sad I got really angry and guess me posting it here is my tiny rebel act:(
Take care:)

Another Sad story... there are so many of them:(
As I am an active Hiker and as I love to do landscape photography only makes it worse, all those inconsiderate people really mess up my two preferred interests, ruining the very nature I love to spend my time in. Sending this picture along with the others I have taken would not make a difference I think. the comapny would most likely just laugh at me.
Thank you for sharing another sad story...
They really should all be ashamed.

But I would be pretty surprised if they would actually to listen to me...

As for the last question, the answer is probably a mixture of lazyness and ignorance.

You are most likely right... but a sad thing it is...

again: there you have posted some wonderful photos (except: the last one).
I agree: you are an artist with your camera.
And for the sad part I have to tell you this:
I think, I live here in a very healthy world. Okay, we are not the center.
But it seems, all is okay here: nobody put the garbage in the forest, nobody demolishes benches, the most people take good care to our nature. I took a lot of photos so far and never I found a piece of garbage. Yes, I think, I should be happy, to live here.
Therefore: the people can learn it. You just have to cry very loud... and to show such photos!

Thank you, I greatly appreciate your compliment, both of them:)
Thank you for sharing your comments on the state of cleanness where you live. i am glad that people at least somewhere in the world cares:D
I think people in general do take care of the nature around them, but I have seen af few very unfortunate incidents up here and the picture in this post is one of them.
I am just surprised how angry I get when seeing it.

I am glad you like them and especially that first one, as I have put a lot of work into both taking it and the Monochrome conversion.

About the last one. I think it's very typical to the very northern or remote places. A guy who's working with me has lived 15 years in Kuujjuaq and he told me all kind of stories of buried or left there garbage. As usual, there must be a financial reason to it(transportation) but that being said, It's still inexcusable. If these companies are willing to spend huge amount of money to find oil or minerals they have to include the price of leaving the place the way they found it.

I agree... I shot them an email with the picture, but they have so far not reacted at all. Not that I expected them too, but still.
Just sad too see nature ruined like that...
Thanks again:)
