Everyday snapshots...

... a swift trip to Copenhagen and more on the summer vacation to come.

Hi All,

And welcome to another Duploworld update:)

Well the pictures in this post is really nothing special, just a fw everyday snapshots of my favourite motive...
:heart:Miss Duplo:love:
She is lovely I think and more beautiful for every day.
Anyway a casual saturday afternoon snapshot of her:

Well, what else to tell busy week at work... but a good one:)

Monday I will leave for Copenhagen again, yep another travel, but a short one. I am scheduled to return to Nuuk on Thursday. just a short trip to talk over some details regarding work.

Well I think it is time to share the initial details about our summer vacation too.
Around mid June we will leave for a full three week wacation in the US. First stop is a few days in NYC. Then a flight to Denver and from there we will pik up a car (Convertible I think) and drive our way through Rocky Mountains and Grand Canyon, take a few Days in Vegas, drive out for a few days in LA and then catch a flight home.
The detailed planning from Denver to LA has not taken place yet, but we have a quite few ideas and we are just now muffling (is that a real word?bigsmile) around the details of what to see and when...

A wonderful trip that I am really looking forward to and so is Miss Duplo.

Well guess that is it for now... take good care you all:)

Thomas

Another sign of spring has emerged...Candids of me, Copenhagen, Nuuk and more

"Mulling" around the details. . .
of a well-earned holiday!

She is lovely Thomas, and well captured. Have you experimented with closer head only shots? It's great when you have someone to photograph with such fine features; there's almost no end of things you can try.

Your US trip sounds like fun - remember to pack plenty of everything for photos!

Hi Yooper,

Thanks for correcting me... Not sure where I came up with that other word from and I was a bit too lazy to actually do anything about it...

And yeah I think it is a well earned one.

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Sunday, April 29, 2007 4:32:05 PM

Hi PJ,
Thank you, I will pass on that fine compliment.
I just did a coule of quick snaps from across the livingroom... I think I have litteraly more than 100 portraits of her from full figure to head only.

We are both looking soo much forward to that trip:)
The gear list so far looks like this:
K10D and K100D (sparebody)
14mm, 21mm, 43mm and 70mm primes
Flash
ND grads (1 & 2 stop soft and 3 stop hard), 3 stop ND and C-pl filters
tripod

well gotta go take some pictures now the weather is perfect for it:)
Take care:)

Again, thanks for sharing. I really loved the light in this shot. That northern light rocks! I live very close to L. A. drop me a note when you're in the area, perhaps for a quick drink. Bon Voyage, regardless!

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, April 30, 2007 10:31:21 AM

HI Bea,

Thank you... I am sure she reads your kind compliment.
I will let her know.

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, April 30, 2007 10:49:29 AM

Hi RX,

Thanks for looking and commenting.
Not sure I have seen you commenting before, so just in case…
Welcome to my blog:)

Northern lights is indeed amazing… this however is the result of a flat overcast spring light though… Northern Lights is something quite different;)

Sounds like a fun idea:)
I will let you know when we have completed a more detailed planning and knows exactly when we will be in LA.

ND grads are next on my shopping list. I want to get either the Cokin system (cheaper) or the Lee (quite expensive, but nice glass), but all of them will have to wait for a while sad

Uncle MickMickeyjoe-Irl Monday, April 30, 2007 9:43:44 PM

remember to pack plenty of everything for photos!

Not too much or you'll have to rent a min-van and not a convertible. wink

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, April 30, 2007 10:59:17 PM

@ PJ
I got the cokin P version after looking at both systems... primarily because it is smaller and lighter and it works all the way down to 14mm without problems (Wide angle adaptor)
The Lee is definitely better in terms of build quality, but also larger and more expensive... and when hiking size actually does matter...
I have found Hitech filters very nice too, actually I use hitech filters, but the cokin P either wide angle or normal adaptor.

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, April 30, 2007 11:02:19 PM

Mikey J,
lol you got that right...
Nope it will be a very compact setup... 7 kilos tripod included (I will bring the large one)...
Would not want to risk my dream of driving through the rokies in a convertible:)

hungryghost Tuesday, May 1, 2007 2:51:54 PM

sounds like a fantastic trip Duplo - consider bringing a macro as well when you're at the Grand Canyon - there're some really nice features to the rocks there that are best captured close up!

In the meantime, have a good trip to Coppenhagen!

bigsmile

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Wednesday, May 2, 2007 1:18:44 AM

HI Hungry,

I will consider that..., that said there is a huge difference between the 1:3 magnification that I have regular lenses capable of and the 1:1 full macro that a dedicated macro lens brings up... I will consider putting it in the bag though:)

Thanks I am down here right now:)

Wakajawaka Wednesday, May 2, 2007 3:09:19 PM

Your planned trip sounds interesting. I'm sure, you will take a lot of wonderful photos for us.

Sprogger McSprogsprogger Friday, May 4, 2007 1:19:56 AM

Nothing special????
You have the knack for capturing her beauty, just as you do for the landscape.

Sounds like a wonderful road trip. would you have any room in the trunk after all the camera gear to squeeze in a rather large Irish man bigsmile

Uncle MickMickeyjoe-Irl Friday, May 4, 2007 9:23:00 AM

C'mon sprogger. He wants to rent a convertible, not a U-haul bigsmile

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Friday, May 4, 2007 3:16:46 PM

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Friday, May 4, 2007 3:28:13 PM

Thank you Richard, I appreciate your compliment.

Well we like the sound of the road trip too... we did not really go anywhere last year, why this year we had to do something fun.

Well not sure about that last suggestion Richard it is a convertible after all:D
