Weather sucks these days...

, , , , , ,

Hi All,

Yep another Duploworld update is up, and it is not exactly another summer update... weather this past week has been sad... heavy rain, strong winds and no fun:(

To add to the fun my work messed up my vacation...
The plan was for us to leave for a full 3 week vacation in the US 10 days from now. have a few days in NYC and then drive all the way through the Rockies to LA.
Well that is not going to happen:(
On the other hand on Thursday we will leave for the US, 3 days in NYC and a week of driving around on the east coast, not exactly what we had hoped or aimed for, but I guess it will just have to do and it is going to be fun too:)
And we get to see a few friends on the way, which is not bad either:)Plan so far is as said to start of with 3 days in NYC, go back to BWI, grab a day in Washington DC and then head towards Shenandoah National park and Blue Ridge mountains, before returning to BWI for the flight home.

Has a quick visit to Copenhagen planned for July and in August we have a lot of family comming up here to visit us, not a bad summer after all:)

Well crappy weather is not the samme as no photofun... it opens a door to indoor macro work... and here you are a very very classical motive, interpreted by me:
Roasted beans...

I am working on a total reorganisation of all my photo albums, so do expect changes there over the next few days:)

Well that is it, hopefully weather will be dry tomorrow I have an urge for being outside that needs to be settled...

Take care you all:)

I know that urge to be outdoors - get it often and again myself. I hope for dry weather for you - now that you fortunately have had to do that piece of indoor macro.

Lovely, delicate grey tones. Nice details and fine depth of field.

Beans! Very nice textures and would make a lovely print I should think. Maybe an large poster size for the kitchen.

Well done.

Nice delicate touch to your beans:up:

There goes my trip too:( I was looking forward to spinning through the rockies in the back of your car wink

Hi Allan,

Thank you for liking my bean shot. macro is truly very difficult.
DOF and focus really has a zero tolerance for error when working with that small objects.

Well dry weather is not absolutely a requirement, but it makes lenschanges so much easier;) Weather did improve today... not much, heavy fog replaced the rain, but I got a few decent shots back home with me:)

Thank you PJ:happy:

Well I am actually working on a serie of monocrome macros for our kitchen, smaller prints though... we have not decided on the size yet... probably 10x15cm or 20x30cm
motives must all be found within the kitchen itself, quite a fun exercise:)

Thank you Richard:)

Unfortunately it does:( guess you have to settle for NYC, Washington, Shenandoah and blue Ridge mountains;)

Well, what can a person do! Sorry to hear that your plans for the big mountain trip didn't pan out!

I hope you have a good time in the States anyway. Are you getting a convertible? smile

I'll say "hi" to the Rockies for you! I leave for Colorado tomorrow!

I know, I know, Thomas: the weather isn't very nice. The same here: we can see and feel the effects of the bad Greenland weathers too, with winds, heavy rain, thunderstorms all days (and that since a few weeks). I'm so tired of this. It seems, I live here in a rain forest.
But you are right to show us a new and great indoor photo. up

Good luck for your album reorganisation. I guess, it will be a lot of work. bigeyes

Hi Yooper,

Not much I guess, except to make sure that the vacation I will get is spend well:D

I am sad about the trip too, but maybe next year. not sure what car to get yet... but we will look into that when we get there...

Thanks Yooper, tell them that I will come walking them as soon as time permits:D

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, June 11, 2007 6:18:07 PM

thank you Elke:)

Sad to hear that your weather sucks too... I did not know blackforest was a rain forrest though;)

Yep quite a lot of pictures to sort through, so far I have just removed a lot of the older stuff to make room for something new.
I am still waiting for the day where opera allows us to rearrange albums and move photos between them, before I will do a more thorough clean up.
