A magic night in Copenhagen

, , , , ,

Hi All,

it is time for the second Duploworld update on my Copenhagen visit.
Subject matter is on somthing magic that goes on every night/evening in Copenhagen and makes for a truly wonderful scene.

Those of you having visited Copenhagen might already have guessed what I am talking about, it is Tivoli by night.
Tivoli is perhaps the oldest amusement park in the world.
The Tivoli park has been located in the very center of Copenhagen since 1843, not only does it actually have a few interesting rollercoasters and stuff, it has something much more important. History. Afterall, it has been a part of the city for roughly 164 years.

During night it turns into magic and makes for perhaps the most beautiful place in Copenhagen by night.

Well enough said, the following pictures kind of says it all:

The China house:

Pirates in Tivoli:

Ready for a spin?

Fountains by night:

A few more can be found as an update to the "Danish Summer Photos" album.

Thank you for looking and do take care:)

Sweet Lord!

This is Tivoli as it ought to look like!!!

What shutter speed Thomas? No noise at all. Did you use NoiseNinja or the likes - or is it just Pentax?

This is so good - never mind the tech stuff.

Thank you Allan:happy:

I must admit that I am pretty happy about these photos.

Easy part first the shutter speeds 1(15s @ f8), 2(30s @ f9), 3(8s @ f13) and 4(13s 2 f8).
All shot at ISO 100 which in combination with a subtle noise reduction in the Raw conversion stage (silkypics) is what makes them look so clean. the full res photo has a slight trace of noise, but noiseninja will take care of that before the final print.

You sensor should have pretty much the same noise characteristics as mine (they are the same, except for the four channel readout).

All techs and what matters is the final outcome and i appreciate you liking it.

hey, those scenes look familiar, I was at the Tivoli a few years ago, but only during the day, not at night so missed these sights...sure is a special place...

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Thursday, July 26, 2007 12:48:16 AM

Well probably to visitall the fancy restaurant in there:D

Am I right Mr. hungry:D

And yeah it is a special place, I love tivoli...

ever tried spelling the name backwards by the way;)

hungryghost Thursday, July 26, 2007 2:42:41 AM

heh heh...you know me so well Mr. Duplo...although - in actual fact, we went to a very typical Danish restaurant for open-faced sandwiches as my friends wanted me to try typical Danish cuisine. I even had pickled herring; much sweeter than I thought it would be!

ooh very good point. It's just like "Evian" or "Stressed"

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Friday, July 27, 2007 3:06:58 AM

Ohh hungry, you had what us Danes calls "Smørrebrød" probably even "højt belagt" which I have no idea how to translate.

Yep:D

Nice work Thomas. You've really captured the essence there and that's what makes great photographs.
