SKYY Vodka and Landscapes...

, , , ,

Hi All,

Well what is this Duploworld update all about you may wonder?
Well the tittle really says it all, does it not?bigsmile
And does it mean that I have decided to cheat you all for the remaining posts from my trip to Denmark?
No certainly not, but I have decided to update you a bit on what has been going on lately before continuing my Denmark updates.

SKYY Vodka

Now what is all the fuzz about that SKYY Vodka thingy and where on earth does it fit into my world?
Well there is a story behind it.

I have always had a passion for Vodka, not mixed in drinks but the kind of vodka that you can enjoy the way a decent single malt, Cognac or Rum is enjoyed - Straight up!

During an excellent Dinner this Saturday at one of our friends house, I was introdued to this blue bottle of vodka produced in the US. Now my first thought was that there is no way you Americans (no offence) can produce a vodka like they do in Russia.
Well I was in for a surprise, the SKYY vodka is definitely one fine vodka. and definitely worth tasting. but please do not destroy it by mixing somthing in it. taste it slightly chilled and straight up... a pleasure.
But hey that was not the only surprise of the evening, we had excellent wine and food as well:D

And my apologies for the lack of creativity in the picture above, but we were not exactly sober:hat:drunk and it was the best I could do with a flash and a chunk of ice from the icecap that late in the evening:D:D

The Landscape
Well no post without a decent picture (unlike the drunken snapshot above:D) the picture below is perhaps the most summerly poto I have taken this year in Greenland and it took a while to spot a scene that actually had that much green in one place.
It is taken at the nearby lake, late in the evening.

A few more pictures from that evening can be found in the "Greenlandic Summer Photos" Album, even got another flower photo in there:D

Now that is all for now, I will hopefully be back with a new update sometime tomorrow night.

Do take care you all and thank you for stopping by:)

A drunken shot? Well, a good drunken shot in that case.

In Danish: Du kan åbenbart bære en brandert.

Well, the summer shot is better - admitted. Striking foreground to capture my attention, a sunlit background to add depth to the scene and in the middle shutter-speed-softed water for my eyes to dwell on for a while.

In fact I think that if someone was to publish a book on how to shoot excellent landscapes - this would easily candidate for the cover-shot.

Back to the vodka. I´ll take that as a recommendation. I know about whisky, cognac and rhum of the finer kind. I know that you will also be able to buy fine gin. But next time I pass my local liqueur pusher I think I will have to ask him if he´s got some of that SKYY vodka for sale.

WEll Allan, either that or perhaps plain luck.
In Danish: heldet følger nogle gange de tossede ved du wink

Thank you soo much for your beautiful compliment. I am actually blushing a little reading it.

Seems we share another interest as well:)

Thanks again allan:happy:

Hi Hungry,

Well we had a pasta dish, with err... pasta, and a sauce of minisausages, spring onions and Danish bacon lightly fried in white wine and virgin olive oil. Add tomatos and a little more white wine and a some cream and we are all set.

Deserts were, well I ce cream.

No the little white thingys, I thing are actually called arctic cotton flowers.
A bigger picture of one can be found HERE.

Yep your two main interests are definitely out in the open:D

I used to drink neat vodka in my wilder days, we used to be able to get 5 litre bottles of the real good stuff from the polish coal ships when they would come into the docks, for about the price of a pack of cigs.

Never managed to get a photo like that though:D

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Tuesday, August 7, 2007 11:11:55 AM

Well then you know what I am talking about:D

Sounds like you had fun time back then...
