First day of autumn...
Sunday, September 2, 2007 5:07:58 PM
Hi All,
Welcome to another Duploworld Update:)
My trip back to Greenland scheduled for Tuesday turned into a real nightmare and the short of it is, that in stead of arriving back home Tuesday late afternoon, I arrived Friday at 2200 hrs.
Now I am not going to dig any further into that here, as I have promised not to discuss anything related to work on this blog.
It has indeed been a long week and yesterday was my first real day back in Greenland. It was also the first day of autumn and it was the first day that a very unique phenomena revealed itself to me again.
Now to set the scene:
Yesterday evening we went to a Birthday party to celebrate a friend of ours (no I do not recall how old she is, 25 perhaps?).
Now after a splendid dinner, potatoes, excellent salad, some fine meat and a wonderful birthday cake I went outside to grab a quick smoke and enjoy the last rays from the sun.
Well as I gazed up my jaw dropped...
I flipped the smoke away while picking up my jaw from the porch...
Ran back inside...
Grabbed the camera and my trusted tripod...
Ran straight back out...
Fired up the gear...
And hit the shutter...
Now what did I see you might ask, it was a scene that turned into a photo called:
First Day of Autumn
What a magic way to roll out the "Greenlandic Autumn Photos 2007" album.
Thanks for looking and do take care:)
Thomas

Louisvolkuro # Monday, September 3, 2007 10:36:40 PM
It smells like Autumn here too, the leaves have already begin to change colors...
The good thing about Autumn, Hungry, is that it makes the most beautiful landscape photos!

Thank you for the fine compliment first of all:)
Now why is autumn so bad... temperature is getting lower, the peaks slowturns white (it has already begun here:D)
And as Louis pointed out it makes for some fantastic landscapes...
but most importantly, mosquito free hiking:D
What more to ask for...
