No place like home...

Hi All,
Welcome to a lengthy photorich Duploworld update:)
Covering Birthdays, photography, a bit of new gear, feelings and more.
I have travelled extensively over the summer and during a longish hike this Sunday I realised something important... There really is...
No place like home...
The photo above really tells more about what I truly miss from our current home when away and why I truly love being here. So much more precise too, than words ever could be.
Now Sunday September 16th was my 27th birthday, It was spend in Copenhagen.
A quiet celebration with my Mom, Dad, sister and brother. Breakfast in the morning and in the evening I took them all for dinner at a quiet Danish restaurant. A very nice day indeed.
Copenhagen was a very busy stop and I have not fully recovered yet, I am still very tired and have slight signs of Jetlag.
I did get full 2 hours of photography during my stay. they were spend in central Copenhagen on a dull day that among other things involved rain. Now I am not going to show you any of them yet, I have a few other photos to show and those on a slower connection will most likely be rather happy about that:D
now this Friday I arrived back in Greenland, had a late afternoon meeting and went home tired and only thinking about going to sleep. However upon my arrival I found out that a package had been delivered to me...
It held my all new Ball head. A graf Studioball.
One of the largest and sturdiest heads available. It is an absolute beauty of a ball head. though it comes at a price. A price to pay in terms of weight, at 1.5 kilos it brings my standard tripod setup up to a weight of 4.5 kilos.
Entirely OK by me, as it will take on a blizzard without tilting or even shake a bit:)
A comparison photo between the studioball and the acratech ultimate ball head is HERE
Now Saturday was the day where we celebrated our birthdays with a round of good friends. Miss Duplo did all the cooking. An excellent meal, though you will have to ask her to get the details on what we had...
It was meat, potatoes, rice, salad and her very special homemade red wine sauce:)
A great party and loads of fun:cheers:

Sunday, morning I got out of bed early, walked to the bakery store, grabbed bread and some other stuff, walked home, prepared breakfast and made sure that Miss Duplo had a wonderful breakfast in bed and a round of presents naturally. Miss Duplo turned 24 on this Sunday and She deserved to be spoiled a bit, as all the traveling I have done this summer has been hard on her.
after breakfast we got dressed, packed down the photo gear and headed out... Now a short walk into the hike, Miss Duplo started to freeze and headed home... I continued to the place that was the target of the trip and resulted in the photo opening this post. weather was amazing and rather chilly, after all we received the first round of snow this Thursday.
Frozen autumn
Above photo is from the same trip as the opening photo in this blog post. A stunning walk the really did work wonders, at least to me... And really reopened my eyes to what I find so amazing about the nature up here.
Now I better stop now, before this post gets out of hand:D
Thanks for reading and do take care:)

For some reason, my blog watch thing decided to stop watching your blog, so apologies for me not visiting until now (I rely on that thing to remind me to visit people's blogs).
