Mother of the Sea

, , , , , ,

Is the name of a newly revealed sculpture in Nuuk.

Hi All,

And welcome to another Duploworld update:)

The sculpture has been placed in the Colonial Harbour, but out in the water in such a way that she reveals herself during low tide and disappears during high tide.

A beautiful piece of art I think, here is the first photo I have captured of her:
Mother of the Sea

Now I do hope you like it...
Because I almost got totally soaked trying to get this. The tide rose above the rock where I was located to capture this a fair bit quicker than I expected:eyes:bigsmile

Now you may also remember this house... anyway here with the sun setting behind it, it gives a somewhat different feel I think:

Now that is it for now, just two photos from a quiet evening walk a few days ago.

Thanks for looking and do take care:)

I love the concept of a piece of art appearing and disappearing according to the tides. It's great because it interacts with nature giving it somehow a bit of life up

I like it better than "The Little Mermaid" - the sculpture in Nuuk actually gets wet!
