First week back home

Hi All,
An all new Duploworld update fresh off my keyboard.
This posts phototheme is no surprise... Greenland, unfortunately not exactly wall hangers, but photos of things I either like about Greenland or find amusing:)
And while we are at it why not spend a few words explainging why:)
So I better start right off.
"Kangerlussuaq Airport"
Even though one would think I have had my fair share of time in airports and thus should hate them y now. I actually quite like airports, there is a certain atmosphere in and around airports.
Kangerlussuaq is something special though. a cramped space, with often way too many people, worn out facilities and ugly buildings, but placed in some of the most beautiful surroundings one can imagine.
It speaks volumes about what Greenland also is and is, kind of hard to eplain.
Now and that sign in the photo, I simply adore it. Do not ask me why though:)
"Sea of Ice"
Nature up here is amazing, even in winter, on a heavily overcast day, views can be more different than I have ever imagined. Take the huge amount of tightly packed ice flakes on a low water shelf at low tide. simply amazing i think. but one has to watch out the rock bed is covered by a couple of cm of ice and it is insanely slippery. I have a pretty bruised knee to remind me right now:(
"Streak of blue"
moving to a different position and zooming a bit, emphasize the streak of blue left by the tiny Iceberg among the ice flakes. Sure the colours are muted and dull, but I love these bleak winter scenes.
Now if yuo wonder how big these things are? Well then I have "this photo" which has a friend in the frame to give you an idea, the iceflakes are a lot larger than one would think.
Would they look better around sunset with a more clear sky? Well sure they would and that is another project of mine:)
"below sea level"
Looking back towards shore reveals another interesting thing. a blend of a large snow cover, rock and ice in a wonderful mix. Ohh yeah even on a dull day I have no problem finding something interesting to look at. It does not do well in photos, but it was a great thing to experience walking among these flakes and seeing the shorline from below.
Well thanks for sharing a sunday walk with me. I have a watchlist that will have to wait until tomorrow.
Do take care you all:)

It was a rather chilly afternoon, but a great walk.
Yep even subconsiously I have my priorities:D
Thank you Bea:happy:
The blue colour is something about Ice density IIRC, and while the photos has been a stop through photoshop and silkypix, then that is for standard RAW conversion and web and print preperation, I strive to keep colours as close to reality as possible.
Yep Asgier,
Only a little less than four hours. Downside is that you would have to fly via Copenhagen to get here, we have no direct flights to the UK yet:(
Thanks for liking my photos:happy:
