That I have not had the time to tell yet...
Hi All,
Welcome to a Duploworld update on a lot of stuff that I have not had the time to fill you all in on.
FIrst of all, my "Holga 120" project has received a long awaited update... lots of new stuff there:)
But most importantly I have spend another week up here. It is nothing short of wonderful being home:happy: If I have not told it before, then I do love the arctic winter and this year it has been both strong and cold:) temperatures have steadied around -20C and dropping below on a regular basis. the last few days it has been cold enough for the fiords to start "breathing" and partly freeze up (normally the currents are too strong for that to happen). "Breathing" means that the 2-3C degree warm water steams into the below -20C air. A vissually very interesting phenomena, that I have yet to find the right way to capture, but I will give it a shot tomorrow:)
But winter is good:) heaps of snow, lots of snowboarding and lots of photography:) how good can life get:happy:
Pebble Beach
I have had some interesting deep snow walks been spending a huge amount of what little spare time I have outdoors.
So my less frequent visits here is due to me being outside in the wonderful winter and get aqquainted with it.
This snowy sunset is another fine example of where I spend my time off from work.
Snowy sunset
I have done a lot of work too, work is as busy as always... not boring all the time though:) we held a travel event, promoting the second season of our the route to Baltimore in the US, in Nuuk in late January. It was one of the funniest days I have had lately.
Now what else have I been doing? Ohh yes I had a chance to get a couple of quick grabshots of the beautiful Miss Duplo in a more controlled setting. The two holgas were all I had at hand, but I am amazed of what one can get from basically two flashes, not more powerful than the ones built into a regular DSLR, once they are moved off camera. still some issues with the hairlight, but overall pretty nice I think.
Is she not lovely:heart::Love:
My girl

What else to tell...
Ohh, there is a few new additions in the "Greenlandic Winter Photos 2008" album, aside from the ones posted above.
Well I have a another update from a most remarkable day ready by tomorrow or Monday, so do stay tuned:)
Thanks for reading and do take care:)

And Your Girl is lovely indeed - and your use of depth of field only ads to the beauty making a striking portrait. You wonder about some hair-issue? If you'll allow me, I'd be more concerned about the hands-pose. Looks a bit awkward to me - but as with everything else, that's merely a matter of taste.
And I do envy you the winter up there - not today, though, with 12 degrees and sun here in southern Denmark. Springtime in the beginning of February?

What made you switch to Nikon? Still have the Pentax or you traded it in or use it as a backup?
Great photos as always!

Agreed it turned out really well to me too.
I will most certainly allow you Allan. critique is the best way to learn and you do have a valid point too. I guess I do not see it that way at the time of shooting and I am not sure I agree, but even the fact that I am second guessing it now, makes it a very valid point. Thank you for that too, something I do appreciate.
Well yesterday we were around -30C today was only -22C, but a lot more windy.
Thank you Andy:happy:
Yep it is a dream setup, a D3, 14-24G, 24-70G (not arrived yet), 70-200 VR and a 50/1.4...my prime lineup is not there yet, but that is step two.
My pentax gear is still around and will stay as my compact kit, when I do not need the D3.
I just added the Nikon setup a month ago. Call it a gift from a satisfied customer, all I am allowed to say.
Thank you for liking them asgeir:happy:

Wonderful to hear that your winter is wonderful.
Well we have lots of snow too, but rather chilly temperatures to go with it...
Thanks for liking the shot of miss Duplo, will pass on your kind compliment.
