Arctic Weekend Cruise - Day 3
Saturday, May 10, 2008 3:41:00 AM
On this third day one of the 12, was up very early again and words fail to describe the sight that met him.
At six o'clock in the morning, with a mug of freshly brewed coffee, standing on the front deck and enjoyed the view of Qoorqut at first light.
Qooqqut at first light
slowly the 12 was geathered on the front deck all enjoying the view and after a quick breakfeast 8 of the 12 were brought to shore.
5 immediately began the climb up the nearest mountain and on the way up there the sheer size of the tiny bay revealed itself for real, breathtaken the 5 silently enjoyed the view.
Timmiannguit bay
The 5 continued up, the terrain growing steeper and steaper, but all of the sudden a small terrace reveal itself. It was a perfect spot and after two hours of steep uphill hiking in trailless terrain, the 5 decided to make this terrase the end of the hile. For a good hour the 5 laid back and enjoyed the spring sun.
Mountain terrace
After a steep downhill hike the 5 became 8 and were sailed back to the ship.
Here the 8 became 12 again and a late lunch were served.
After a couple of hours of fishing the 12 was sailed towards Nuuk again, most of the sleeping below deck, but one of the 12 laid relaxing on the front deck in the sun, etched in his mind were the views from the weekend and that sunday morning in particular.
