Copenhagen and more....

Hi All,
And welcome to a Duploworld update on Copenhagen and my return home to Greenland.
Aged Tree
Is a photo from a place called "Dyrehaven", which means animal garden. Basically it is a huge forest area with protected areas for wild animals. Forest trails for people to walk, ride or bike. Even a large amusement park called "bakken". We used to live 10 minutes away from there and it is one of my favourite areas. A place I make sure to visit when I am in Denmark.
Flower thingy
Another thing that I truly enjoy when in Denmark is macro photography. The diversity of flowers and flora is simply amazing. Best part is that it can be done everywhere, indore in a controlled environment like above, or when visiting family, like seen HERE.
Family visits is naturally an important part of every visit to Copenhagen. we really try to get to see as many as possible. Not being around our family during our normal daily life only increase the pleasure of spending time with them. The photo below is from one of those occations, Miss Duplo and I stopping by the café where my sister works as a supervisor.

Another regular stop on our trips to Copenhagen is "langelinie" a cruise ship harbour area. Famous for its Icecream. On our stop there this time there was surprisingly enough no cruice ships and we did not really feel like eating ice cream. We just sat there for a while enjoying the view towards "trekroner" a tiny fortress located in the waters at the entry to the harbour. the clouds made a beautiful display on this day.
Trekroner fortress
The final place to mention this time around is located a bit north of Copenhagen. It is called Frederiksborg Castle.
Located in Hillerød and surround by moats and a beautiful park and garden area.
A former Royal residence, orginally built by King Christian IVI in the early 17th century. in 1859 it was burned to the ground, but it has since been brought back to how it was at the time of King Christian IV. these days acting as a museum and open to the public. Same goes for the park and garden area and it is simply put a very beautiful place. One of those quiet spots in a busy provincial town.
One of my favourite places in this area, are in the upper part of the baroque garden (a garden recreated from studies of the gardens as they were around 1725), the scene blow is describes what I like about this isolated area of the garden. At least I hope so:)
Through weird shaped trees
This saturday marked the end of our trip and the return flight towards Greenland. Unlike the route we normally follow, the stopover on this trip was Narsarsuaq south of Greenland. the 4 hour stopover gave me an excuse to go hunting for a few decent photos to mark the beginning of my "Greenlandic Summer Photos 2008" album.
Summer in Southern Greenland
Well I guess that is all for now. More photos in the "Denmark 2008" album and the "Greenlandic Summer Photos 2008" album.
Thanks for reading and do take care:)

I am quite happy with the B&W ones too, they came out quite decent I think.
Thank you Andy:happy:
I know you think so, though I do not agree I certainly am humbled by and appreciate your kind compliment.
Thank you Deborah:happy:
Glad you enjoy the photos.
Thank you Peter:happy:
Forboding you say... perhaps you are right.
I most certainly did not, but I guess she does get tired of me shooting constantly at times:D
Well Mickey J,
I feel with you, just hope you have fewer of the darn mosquitoes than we do:D

Thank you for posting your PM here and yes it seems to belong here to me too.
I will go take a look at nic's galleries and posts a little later, now it is almost time for bed, I have my brother up here these days, and saturday it is time for a trip north, to where the ice cap and fiords meets most amazingly.
All the best to you and your loved ones.
