Day 1 - Moonrise
Friday, August 1, 2008 3:40:39 AM
Hi All
And welcome to a duploworld update primarily on this weekends cruise.
And my apologies in advance for a very long and photo rich post.
The main destination was a fiord called "Ameraliken", a huge fiord just south of Nuuk.
The good ship Kissavik
Was the ship used for the trip, with room for 12 people and a crew of 3. The old and battered looking lady is a wooden ship originally build in 1952, but she has been well maintained and is fully modernised both in terms of instrumentation and living quaters:)
Not much to tell about friday though. We boarded the ship, and set off towards a tiny side fiord, deep inside the "Ameralik". the trip in there was in strong sun, that turned into a beautiful evening sun.
People spend the time relaxing in the stern:
chatting at the railings:
Even miss Duplo was in a particularly picturesque mood
As we anchored up, so did the mosquitoes unfortunately
but not bad enough to prevent people from staying on deck enjoying the bright summer night. The moon rise was spectacular, helped by the bright night it made for this beautiful entrance of the local police ship:
Sisak in Mooonlight
Now what better way to round off friday than this:
Moonlight
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for day 2 and 3:)
I will try to catch up with you all during the weekend.
Do take care you all:)
Thomas
