Day 3 - I found one, I finally found one
Tuesday, August 5, 2008 11:36:59 PM
Hi All,
And welcome to Day 3 of the Duploworld weekend update.
A slow and somewhat lazy day spend by the melting water river and sailing back home to Nuuk.
Now I said I found it, like in finally found it and I am not speaking of what might be...
a new family under the suborder Folivora?
That I came across while shooting some random photos that never really turned out useful, or I have at least not come far enough with the processing of them to allow anybody else to see the pictures yet.
No I am talking about my first sighting of a....
Hold on Now....
Greenlandic Spider thingy
It was on the run speeding over its web.
Now I chased it around pretty close, with my eye glued to the viewfinder and lens almost in the web..
After all they are not dangerous or anything and VERY tiny
Ahh... I see
The little spider thingy was hugry
really hungry it seems...
Not anywhere near the quality of the work of i.e. chthoniid spider stuff and nowhere nearly as dangerous, but kind of fun to get to see one eating at the first try.
After having seen that it was time to return to the boat though:(
And the trip back was a lazy one...
relaxed front deck
Now that concludes the report on an amazing weekend
Warm, sunny, lots of good company and lots of adventure, what more can one really ask for?
thanks for reading all and do take care:)
Thomas
