A goodbye party and a long walk

HI All,

Yet another update from Duploworld.

Well as previously written, Saturday were the day where we celebrated the departure of a friend up here. It may sound odd, but when ever people are moving away from here, it is a tradition to throw a party:drunk:party

It were a good one, loads of friends, delicious food (barbequed Reindeer), accompanied by a tasty red wine:drunk:

It did get a bit late though we finished up like half past 3 in the morning

Sunday I woke relatively early around 10 o’clock and looked out the window (and checked the weather forecast) Decided that weather, though Cloudy would be great for a walk to the peak of Ukkusissat and what a walk 5 hours of walking and climbing to the peak and a 3 hours descent, mostly climbing as we took a very direct route on the way down, quite exciting at times. It were a rough trip and did get a lot longer than anticipated, because we made a wrong turn, or forgot to turn to be precise and ended up doing the 8 hours very long route and not the anticipated route straight to the peak.

Having said that we did get an unexpected chance to walk/climb in areas where people rarely passes by and experience some of the most beautiful sceneries I have seen for quite a while, unfortunately our walk were not a photo walk, both hands required to stay on trail much of the time. But I did get a chance to shoot a few photographs (The long walk album).

Believe me it almost felt sensational to walk on a plain and stable surface again. And downright amazing being at home again, grab a cold bottle of water and walk out to the balcony and enjoy an amazing sunset.

Well that is all for now, got to get some work done before going to bed.

Do take care you all:)

Thomas
