Hi All,
Finally time for another update from Duploworld, it has been almost a whole week since the last one and I will try updating at least twice a week in the future but no promises, cause i am busier than I have been for a loong time at work and Malene needs to get some attention as well, she is the love of my life after all:love:
What has been going on lately, well as mentioned work are keeping me VERY busy, loads of planning and execution tasks at the moment. A combination of meetings, negotiations and advanced planning on the projects I am currently running.
A bonus is budgeting not my favourite task, but a part of running projects is budgeting. It is safe to say that I do not like to, it is currently like one o'clock in the morning and I still do have a lot of budgeting to do before bedtime.
This time the exercise is more difficult than ever before, a lot more variables to consider and too little hard fact to judge from.
Well that is the work part, privately it has been mostly training, eating and sleeping.
Next week will be just as busy, meetings all week and Friday evening I will take off towards Copenhagen, yep travelling again.
I cannot say that I am sad to do so, I am used to consider travelling a part of the job and there is much to experience when travelling. Having said that, travelling back and forth between time zones within a short span of time is rough both physically and mentally. So please bear with me if updating is less frequent.
Saturday next week will be shopping day, got to buy some stuff when I got the chance, major things are on my list.
Yep my own birthday (September 16th) are closing in and so is Malene’s (September 23rd).
Sunday next week I am throwing a birthday party in Copenhagen for my family, I am so much looking forward to have all my family around me again, even if it is for the evening only. Malene will not be there, which is sad, but she will on the 16th:)
One other thing has been going on this week, I have been checking out an upgrade from my current camera (ultra zoom style) to a full dSLR.
Why+ might be the first question as i bought this camera like only a few months ago. A fair question but things has changed a lot since I bought it.
In the beginning camera seemed and were the right camera for me, but as I were drawn into the world of photography and started experimenting a lot more, the camera slowly went from pleasing me to restricting me.
It is hard to explain, without getting technical, but it is just not enough any more. Some of the things that I have come to find restricting:
No RAW shooting, very noisy at ISO 200 and up, Access to a lot of the functions are buried in the camera menu, fixed lens camera (even though a versatile one it does have limitations and I am unable to do anything about it). motorised zoom and troublesome control of the manual focus.
i am going to keep it as a replacement to my point and shoot (it is compact enough for that) for those situations where ultralight and fast is the key or where risk of damage is too great (i.e. the slopes).
To ensure that I would not make any mistakes in my choice as this one will be a rather pricey one. I have been checking the reviews and comments to current and upcoming models ranging from entry level to semi pro. then made a shortlist (ended up rather long actually:)) and been to the photo store to examine them carefully and test shoot them. first thing and this surprised me, I like the entry levels the most, this due to ergonomics, they simply fits my hands better. Not much sense in buying something that is uncomfortable to use.
The list was narrowed down to four models, Nikon D80, Canon EOS 400D, Sony SLR A100 and Pentax K100D.
The Pentax came out on top and i am looking forward to the day where I can start taking pictures with it.
Some might say that I must have too much money, but I spend a lot of time with my camera these day and do not see that changing anytime soon, why not make that long term investment and get something that will allow me to grow with it and upgrade on a running basis.
Yep a long story on cameras, but that what were o my mind at this very moment.
I better get back to budgeting:(
Do take care you all:)
Thomas
