Hi All,
Just a quick Duploworld update... theme is strickly B&W.
During my walk Thursday I did some images for a monocrome gallery of greenlandic pictures... and well here they are:
A fragile landscape:
A lonely house:
A different fragile view:
A springtime blizzard:
(OK, this was taken Tuesday:D)
Thanks for looking:)
Take care you all.
Thomas

I realise that these are not the first ones, but they are the best IMHO.
The difficult part is to show details in the white snow. Do you use the Channel Mixer?

My favorite is the lonely house with the fog? or clouds? in the background.

I definitely agree... I am really happy with these.
And yes I have a few from earlier that I like, but these are by far my favourites.
But also among the first I have successfully shot with the intention to convert them to black and white.
Keeping details in the snow is really hard when wanting high contrast too.
These are not perfect in that respect, but I think the balance is pretty OK...
yes the channel mixer is the actualy conversion tool.
thanks again,
Thomas

I agree with you... B&W are very different from colour photos and in a way more emotional or artistic... but they have their applications just like colour.
You have a wonderful week too:)

Snow still falling every now and then... not enough to cover the streets though...
and the forecast says temperatures below 0C from Thursday...

I am glad you think so, that real film like B&W is what I was hoping to achieve.
