Take off....

, , , ...

Hi All,

Yep a new Duploworld update and again to tell you that tomorrow morning I will be travelling from tomorrow morning. Destination is somewhat less wild and exciting, I will be heading back to Copenhagen for about a week.
This will also mean that the five photos just uploaded will mean the end to my "Greenlandic Autumn Photos 2007" Album.
And anyway it does not look much like autumn any more.
Because Friday evening a powerful Fohn wind sweep across Nuuk. Towards Sunday evening the temperature dropped again and the Føhn wind turned into a blizzard.
During Monday night the snow eased off just enough, for everyone to start clearing the streets and for me to jump out and shoot a few photos, winds though were still strong enough to almost blow me off my feets:eyes:

later that night it began snowing again and Tuesday afternoon the view from my balcony looked like this:

Well later the snow eased off and just outside my door I saw this:

Now you may ask why are I am already closing down the Autumn Album? Well when I return we will have reached December and thus also reached winter and anyway, this does not look much like autumn to me anymore:D
Autumn?

Now it is just a regular storm, making it close to full week without sunlight and strong winds. Today is not too bad really, only around 31 m/s or 110 km/h.

So take care you all and thanks for looking:)
I will be back to read up soon.

White Autumn?

, , , ...

Hi All,

Well Another Duploworld Update is up and a good one at that.

I returned from New York and London a good week ago and has been held company by blizzards and a F0hn wind attack. even in spite of the fact that the good 24 hours of Fohn wind did kill some of the snow, Greenland is still slowly progressing towards its most beautiful season, winter.

Today I had a most beautiful walk in the harsh, but to me beautiful Greenlandic late autumn landscape.
As days has decreased a fair bit, this afternoon walk would be what the rest of you guys would probably call... well... an evening walk:D

Now on to the photos:

Autumn fire

, , , ...

Hi All,

Welcome to a new Duploworld update:)

The Tittle says "Autumn fire"... and no not litterally, but visually speaking.

Well as we do not have any trees I am not talking about the trees going from green to fire red.
We do however have one thing up here that never cease to amaze me... the light.

Auroras is obviously one of the many different kinds of light, but during autumn as the suns travels in a lower path across the horizon we get something else, a warm and deep red light that visually sets nature on fire.

There is 4 more from the same evening in my "Greenlandic Autumn Photos" Gallery.

The "Holga 120" 365 project is now 3 days old and still comming along fine:)

Thanks for looking adn do take care:)

At the semetery

, , , ...

Hi All,

Well I think I will use this Duploworld update to share two photos that I promised Richard to post.

Well first of all we came by the semetery by accidence and not attending a funeral. and well the photos tells the story better than I can in words.

Scary? odd? stupid? disrespectful? or decent?
Well hard to tell but at least they different from the usual ones:)

For those interested, it was an unusual long exposure around 200 seconds, some of the foregrouond light is from the candles around the graves and some is from low power bursts with an off camera flashgun from outside the frame to add that little extra light in the right places. 6 bursts per photo I think.

Have a wonderful weekend and do take care:)

Travelling again....

, , , ...

Hi All,

Just a brief Duploworld update to tell you all that I will be heading off again.
To Denmark (again), more meetings to be held.

Now I cannot leave without posting another "Greenlandic Autumn Photo":

Not entirely up to the standard of the first, but a decent photo I think.
There is another one from the same walk in the album as well.

Thanks for looking and do take care:)
