a bit longer. The cameras in our mind record their own take on things. We flinch secretly each time we are forced to conjure up recolections or once when we were careless, young and happy.
The build up of our collected injustices brings to light new being. Vacant of our ids. Capable of feets we could only dream. Remembering the things that happen as they were without bias or twist. We are our own destroyers. It is our finger on the trigger. Each mind numbing day after day. Currdled are the sour thoughts that drive us home when the lights are off. An echoing whisper clangs on the drains of our backed up musulege. Cognitive in design - the vacant shades drawn reveal another story....
The eyes continue to peer. The wolves loam waiting to feed wearing suits of silk and satin. Communist comrades funding Capitalist exploits? This kind of shit gets on my last nerve... [END] Currently listening: Split 45 Rpm By Cherubs / Fuckemos

There's two big things out of the way for now -the lyrics. People are always asking where can I get a copy of the lyrics? What exactly is being said there? What's the meaning behind the loudness??? Well, now I am proud to say all these questions and more can now be eased. I am also in the process of compiling .pdf's of the lyrics to 2005's "Sursum Corda" as well as those to 2003's "demoralize". which have never before been made available to the general public. Also, any feedback on the lyrics would be much appreciated as any is usually few and far between. So grab a cold one, prop those feet up, lean back, relax, throw on some FTM, and get ready to gain greater insight into the monster that has become Fuck the Mainstream!

Proposal: Legalize It There is an old saying that goes “there comes a time when we must take a step back and take a good look at ourselves in the mirror”. This saying could easily be used to relate to the Federal Government’s long-standing decision to make and leave marijuana a Schedule I drug- despite the continued scientific evidence that marijuana does in fact hold many medical implications, aside from making a lot of people feel really good. What I am proposing is that the Federal Government entirely declassifies marijuana lifting the long running prohibition on “pot”. There are so many outstanding reasons to do so that go way beyond the basic recreational use that has been demonized by the government and Ad Council for the last 60+years. For instance, we have all heard people talk about how deforestation is effecting our natural ecosystem, and have all heard the pleas to recycle as much paper as possible to hopefully cut down on the number of trees we cut down. Trees of course, as we all know by now, are largely responsible for the air we breathe, and are vital to our continued existence as mammals, but still we all need paper eventually and lumber to boot. So what else could we do, and how does this relate to marijuana? Well, it has been known for quite sometime that hemp is one of the most versatile renewable natural resources in the world if not the most. Hemp stocks or stems, which can grow quite thick when left to thrive, can be broken down and turned into a number useful things, and in this instance paper and particle board. The paper is actually finer in texture than most wood paper, cheaper to produce, and easier to renew. The particleboard is top grade as well, in fact it is durable enough to build a home, which some have successfully chosen to do. Now would anyone build a house of regular wood particleboard if they had a choice? Probably not. Hemp paper used to be quite common before the prohibition on pot, and it is slowly beginning to regain popularity as a fine alternative to wood based paper. Well, as luck would have it in the spirit of true capitalism lumber lobbyist took Washington by storm and with the right amount of money in the right pockets, the pleas of wealthy lumberyard owners and loggers screaming about how the still emerging and thriving hemp industry would ruin them were heard. They claimed that the shear vastness of lumberyards and loggers if left alone would go belly up in face of the emerging hemp industry. The lumber lobbyists worked with cotton and oil lobbyists all sighting similar despair over their uncertain futures. This was in the face of an emerging Second World War and the great depression, if the lobbyists were right, it could spell disaster for the good old U.S. of A. So with increased pressure, fat pockets, alcohol once again legal, and a new branch of government hanging in the balance [that was created specifically to enforce the prohibition on alcohol which had just ended], the best solution seemed to be to demonize the hemp industry and through constant propaganda – films, posters, ad’s, and commercials the government managed to sway the opinions of the masses into conceding their right to use, consume, and manufacture hemp products. And thus we have the prohibition on pot, the new government dept. still had something to demonize, the loggers, lumberyards, oil tycoons, and cotton farmers still had their jobs and all seemed right in the world for the short term. They neglected to consider the effect their logging efforts would have on the world or to invest in hemp as well. Too bad for us. Nonetheless, the evidence of marijuana’s medicinal uses in the last 20 years has greatly skyrocketed. Researchers in the United Kingdom have found that the human brain actually has receptors specifically designed to absorb cannibinoids found in THC, which is derived from marijuana. In the Middle East and Far East marijuana has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries, while westerners have snubbed their noses and turned blind eyes to the practice. Now, marijuana is recognized by most doctors and physicians to alleviate migraines, calm upset stomachs, sooth nerves, and to generally make the patient feel better in the face of life threatening illness- now what other plant does all that? Furthermore, marijuana has yet another capability - fuel. Renewable fuel, much like ethanol in that since. Don’t believe me? Even prior to the prohibition people were looking for alternative fuels. Henry Ford as it turns out releasing hemps renewable resources and cheap production costs decided to make such an alternative fuel from hemp. He spent the end of the 1920’s and most of the 30’s perfecting his hemp car prototype, which unfortunately to him was physically realized at the same time of the prohibition. Needless to say, oil men felt they would be ruined if word got out that oil wasn’t necessary to make a car run, and the government would then have to answer for denying the populous the right to such a cheaper alternative. The government basically told Ford that if he didn’t cease production on his hemp fueled engines that under the new laws of the prohibition he could be tried as an enemy of the state, and imprisoned for an indefinite amount of time. Or he could halt production and continue to work with the oil industry and oil based motors. Obviously, given the circumstance he chose the later. I am proposing the full on legalization of marijuana for medicinal use, recreational use [one look at the number of marijuana related deaths compared to those of the legal alcohol related deaths alone should serve as a good enough reason], and of course, commercial use. Let us look at the numbers, hemp is yet another taxable industry from which the estimated income is $1.3 billion. Last time I checked we were in the middle of a huge recession. More money would undoubtedly help the economy bounce back. Regulate the recreational use of pot similarly to that of existing cigarette laws. No TV pot commercials, you must be 18+up to purchase, a huge warning label stating its harmful qualities, as well as having spend money on properly educating people to the truths about marijuana- namely it can be nice in moderation but to be careful of overindulgence. Just as alcohol companies tell potential drinkers to “drink responsibly”, so should marijuana cigarette companies tell potential smokers to “smoke responsibly”. As for the rest of the hemp industry, that’s all pretty much just money in the bank. I think if given the option the American people will enjoy the choice to new alternatives, and though some business might be taken away from the competition that in the end all markets will thrive, but the toll we take on our trees will greatly lessen. Given the information I have provided I hope you will consider the alternatives and hopefully be a bit more open minded to the decimalization of marijuana. We are in a new millennium and a new age of enlightenment is undoubtedly here, so why continue to enforce practices of ignorance when we have so much to gain from our knowledge. George Washington our nations founding father was a hemp farmer, and undoubtedly he only did so because he recognized the many wonderful uses of hemp. So does that make him a criminal or a patriot? Let’s embrace change for the better and do our part to see that freedom is in fact preserved.
