My new photo album "Palace Monrepos, Germany"

, , , ...

Last winter I took some photos of the lakeside palace Monrepos and its environs.

Monrepos lies next to the German city Ludwigsburg in the southwest of Germany and was formerly used by the royal family of Württemberg.

The photo on the left shows some tree trunks lying next to a country-specific meadow with fruit trees, some kilometers away from the palace.

In the photo section you'll find more pictures in my new album "Palace Monrepos Germany".

My new photo album "Strasbourg, France"

I've spent 1 January 2009 and the turn of the year in Strasbourg and took some pictures, again with my cell phone.

Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region in northeastern France. The photo on the left shows an outer wall of the cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg with a small demon.

For more pictures have a look at my new album in the photo section.

Have a look at my new photo album "Colmar, France"

, , , ...

In November 2008 I've spent an evening in Colmar which is a city in France and one of the bigger cities in the region Alsace, close to Germany.

Unfortunately I had some minor problems taking pictures in the evening with my cell phone.

So, I chose smaller sizes for the photos in this new photo album.

The picture on the left shows a teddy bear I saw in a show window of an exhibition featuring old toys.

My new photo album "Stuttgart, Germany"

, , , ...

I've started a new photo album with pictures from Stuttgart. Stuttgart is the biggest town in southwestern Germany and the capital of the state Baden-Württemberg. The picture above shows the Königsbau, former home of the Stuttgart stock exchange, and next to it on the left the art museum. Both buildings are next to the castle square in the middle of town.

Right now there are only three photos in this album but more pictures are following soon. All the photos are taken with my mobile phone.

My day trip to the Austrian city Innsbruck in Tyrol

, , , ...

A few days after my visit to Salzburg I made a day trip to Innsbruck on Easter Sunday. The Austrian city Innsbruck is the capital of the federal state Tyrol.

On the left you see a photo that I've taken in the art gallery Taxispalais. At the moment they show an excellent exhibition with works by Esther Stocker. The photo shows a walkable room sculpture. More photos of my trip to Innsbruck you can see in the photo album "A visit to Innsbruck".

One of the main places in Innsbruck is the Maria-Theresien-Street with nice shops and cafes. Next to that there's the old town with the famous Golden Roof and its many narrow alleys. If you cross the old town you get to the residence and next to the residence there is nice park, the Hofgarten. Inside of the Hofgarten you'll also find the Hofgarten Café which is a good place to have a few beers in the evening. Another great place for going out is the Cafe 360° on the roof of the Hotel Penz with an amazing view of the town and the mountains.

Innsbruck has its river as well. It's called the Inn. The part of the city on the other side of the river Inn isn't in such a good shape as the places I've mentioned before. But you can find a coffee roaster, a nice cemetery and some other nice stuff there as well.

A nice day trip to the city Salzburg in Austria

, , , ...

On Good Friday I went to Salzburg for a day. Above you see a photo I've taken from the Hohensalzburg Fortress. A few more photos that I made you can see in the new photo album "Salzburg, Austria". The Hohensalzburg Fortress is a huge building on top of one of Salzburg's hills. From there you have a great view of the old town and the Alps.

Salzburg has a very nice old town with beautiful churches and of course the cathedral. If you cross the river Salzach you get to the marvellous Mirabell palace with its pretty gardens. Also very interesting was the visit of the gallery Thaddaeus Ropac that features artists like Sylvie Fleury and Julian Schnabel. If you're a fan of the typical Austrian coffeehouses try to get a place in the Café Tomaselli which is the oldest café in town.
