John Cage & Morton Feldman in Conversation, Part 3

John Cage about Morton Feldman in his lecture "Indeterminacy" given in Brussels in 1959

Artists talk a lot about freedom.

So, recalling the expression "free as a bird," Morton Feldman went to a park one day
and spent some time watching our feathered friends. When he came back, he said, "You know? They're not free: they're fighting over bits of food."

Great! One comment (written by my Opera friend silent_cat) about being free or independent (quote): ...my desire to be completely independent is in fact the hidden reflection of my desire to find something / someone worth being dependent...
Be well,
Dani
