NIGERIA @ 51: BEREAVEMENTS NOT ACHIEVEMENTS.

, , , ...

She's a great nation called Nigeria who begots over 150 million children and celebrating her 51st birthday. She's a fruitful mother with hardworking and intelligent children.
As expected, her numerous children would gather to celebrate the birthday of their beloved mother. It really should be a day of joy, celebrations and praises to the Lord.
51 years is a great milestone worthy to be celebrated. "We celebrate achievements not bereavements". At 51, Nigeria have been bereft of Unity, Peace and Justice which once united it's people and made them a single unit worthy to be celebrated and emulated because of their achievements, ability and greatness.
Nigerians now look at their past wishing they can reach that milestone again. The modern day government has been one known for promises and setting goals. Goals which seems more of illusions and unachievable.
The vision 2020 - Many Nigerians do not absolutely believe these goals can be achieved before the year 2020 given the slow pace or somehow retarding movement the country now operates. To some of them, the Vision 2020 project is more of a mirage and should be meant to deceive foolish people.
Peace & Unity - Perhaps the major tool in nation building. Peace & Unity was something that once united us when we possessed it. "You cannot showcase what you don't possess". Nowadays, this precious tool no longer exists. There's been talks from different people and countries that Nigeria will soon disintegrate. I remember vividly when the former Libyan President Col. Ghadaffi said the best thing for Nigeria is 'division' because of the lack of Peace in the country and also when Former President of the US said Nigeria will disintegrate by 2015. "When there's Peace, Unity will be affirmed. When Peace is absent, Unity goes off".
Militants group are now the major tormentor of Peace in the country. The two major groups comes from the two major parts of the country; the Niger Delta militants from the South (South-South) and the 'Boko Haram' from the North.
Niger Delta Militiants - The activities of oil companies in the oil rich Southern region of the country did raised eyebrows. The notable oil spilling from these companies have destroyed farmlands, waters (rivers, well, streams and more) and of course the aquatic life like the fish which serve as food and source of money to these people. What do you expect? When your government in collaboration with some foreign oil companies take from you what you have and never care about how their activities harm you neither do they care about your welfare! The government keeps backing these companies just because of the money but sometimes never shows concern about the well-being of the people. These made militants rise to say 'enough is enough, we're not animals. Give us what we deserve'. Even amnesty did not help. Though militants accepted the amnesty and surrendered their weapons based on the governments' promise to settle their demands. But their activities still looms today like bombing and notably kidnap because the government neglected most of them after the amnesty programme.
The 'Boko Haram' - The Islamic sect. have been the chief cause of major terrorist activities in the country. This group gets some of their funds and members from countries like Chad and Niger. They are strongly against Western influence or Civilization. Thus 'Boko Haram' means 'Civilization is prohibited'. They've commited various suicide bombings and carried out several attacks on Individuals and Government agencies. Their quest is definitely something I would say is born out of idleness or laziness. The world is a global village, civilization spreads as fast as wildfire. How can you think of removing civilization from a country like Nigeria. It's more of trying to get water out of stone.
There are many more issues which should rather make the country worry than celebrate. Poor social amenities, Internet fraud, 419, Poor infrastructures and most notably a Corrupt government which is becoming inevitable and the source of other problems.
Nigeria is now 51 years old but it's been bereaved and ought to be solving problems not celebrating. Though we celebrate but deep in our hearts, we know there isn't just much to be celebrated. "It's better to celebrate achievements than to celebrate age". A country whose people were once commited, proudly Nigerians, energetic, hardworking, happy and successful has now turned into a country whose people are now Torpor and Lassituded.
Nigeria: Once Achieved, now Bereaved.
May the good Lord save Nigeria.
Long live Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria.
Nigeria: Good People, Great Nation.
HEAL THE WORLD.

NIGERIA @ 50: NOT TO CELEBRATE BUT TO DELIBERATE.

, , , ...

On the 1st of October 1960; 50 years ago, Nigeria was created. We gained independence from the British and we got the freedom we have been waiting for. We knew it's time to start building our country so we started to build a nation with the vision of making it a model, our leaders made so much effort towards realizing this. We were proud of our growth and resources and determined to achieve our goal because we had great leaders to lead us to the promised land.
The standard of education was growing steadily, economy was growing fast, we started to develop our infrastructures, foreign investors came in also. Together we had the zeal to make Nigeria great.
Somewhere, somehow, everything began to collapse steadily. Greed, Corruption, Injustice and Violence began to take over. Our country seemed to be collapsing and all we did was criticize our corrupt leaders. Few of us prayed for the country, few of us thought of what we can do to save our country and few of us believed in our potentials. We struggled through the years seeking to revive the country, seeking to revive the tattered image but things doesn't seem to be getting better because of the greed and mostly corruption that dwelt in us.
Today, the education sector has changed. The power sector has changed. What about other amenities that should improve the country? Foreign investors are not coming as much and some of them are leaving especially because of the failed power sector. We have an education sector where gaining admissions to schools is not much of merit but of the rich. A power sector where the nation cannot boast of steady power and where some places have been in blackout for a long time. Roads are not motorable anymore. The economy is falling and the embezzlement of goverment funds by the politicians doesn't seem to be getting any better. A country where safety can not be guaranteed because of the bad security system. A nation where unknown people now kill or assassinate the security operatives for fear of being caught or exposed. Even the average man cannot live a proper standard of life because of the high rate of poverty. Yet we want to celebrate our golden jubilee with billions of Naira.
This is not what our founding fathers have left. They probably won't be happy with the way things are. We still pretend as if nothing bad is happening to us, the leaders try to cover up things. "A man who knows he has been poisoned and yet pretends as if it's not harming him will die slowly and may not be saved". Despite our problems, we still boast of having the largest black population in the world, being the most populous black nation, being the giant of Africa. "It's not about what you have but what you have achieved with what you have". Our mission now seems more of an illusion to us. This is not the time for much celebration but the time for deliberation. We're celebrating as if we have succeeded in building a perfect nation. Our problems are more than our achievements. If it could get this bad in 50 years, what about the next 50 years?
Nigeria is fifty, most of us are guilty, there is no safety, power is not steady, factories aren't busy, rural areas are empty, everyone for the city, schools lack quality, streets are filthy, everywhere is noisy, parents full of vanity, children are naughty, diseases are plenty, healthcare is costly, roadblocks are many, road vehicles rickety, journeys are risky, leaders not thrifty, religiousness is scanty, don't cry in self-pity, let's all arise quickly, everybody in unity, all working jointly, seriously in honesty, not being greedy and God will show mercy.
We should pray for our country, that God bless us with leaders like King Solomon. That we live in peace and harmony. That corruption destroys us no more. That we build our nation progressively. The only thing we should celebrate is thanking God for keeping us till this moment. That we didn't perish despite what we're going through. We have to put all hands on deck to ensure we achieve our goal. Our ancestors will be proud of us indeed.
You are a Saviour.
God bless Nigeria.
Nigeria: Good People, Great Nation.
HEAL THE WORLD.

STATE OF EMERGENCY

, , ,

The time has come to save our world.
What about the Soweito killings!
What about America vs Bin Laden!
What about the assassination of Martin Luther King!
What about the Jos massacre!
What about the World war 1 and 2!
What about the terrorist attacks!
What about the poor people starving to death!
What about constant bombings!
What about the constant destruction of lives and properties around the world!
All these and many more has rendered the dying world into a state of emergency.
This is not the time to say who is wrong but the time to come together and make the world a better place. The world has suffered enough.
A world where the so-called suicide bombers kill other fellow humans at the expense of their own death. A world where people are massacred like chickens.
A country or a state could be declared a state of emergency but let's not forget that the whole world is in a state of emergency, and it deserves an emergency healing. As the violence rate is on a daily increase and news of death is no longer a new thing to us. We should stand up for a change now, this is not the time to say someone is wrong, everybody is important to make the positive change.
We will surely get there if we all stand up and attend to world problems with immediate alacrity. Let's not see the world as an albatross.
God created us not to come and produce complex machines and weapons to destroy ourselves.
Let's make the world a Palisade from violence and corruption. The world is in a state of emergency and it's up to you to act positively. We are the world and the world only changes when we become changed people. Whatever you do, remember that the younger ones are watching you. Do good always so these young ones will copy the good habit from you.
To the younger ones like myself, our older generations have left a good legacy for us of which we still benefit and learn from, let's leave a better legacy for our children and children's children to copy and follow. Let's mend our own generation collectively.
The past generation have done something. What positive thing have you done? What positive thing are you doing? We are the future leaders so let's see what we can learn now to become a good leader in future. Remember, many people are looking up to you and they have faith in you. Just believe in yourself and we will all get there. I'll be waiting.
WE ARE THE WORLD.
HEAL THE WORLD.

THE TIME HAS COME

, , ,

We no longer need to climb trees, we have to climb mountains. We no longer need to swim in a river but in a sea. We no longer have to smile but laugh. These are some of my quotes i would be using to tell you, the time has come.
The time has come when we should see far into the future and prepare it from the present. The time has come when change should finally come. The time when we need to stop fighting ourselves. Drop your guns for days of fighting and sorrows are over. Days when we use to fight for freedom are over. Let's come together and think, now that we have the freedom, let's make a positive change to the world that would leave a legacy for our children and our childrens children to remember and copy from.
"We seek for freedom that we tend to misuse it when we finally get it" those days when you were in captivity and there was no freedom which you have to fight for. Remember the time when lives are destroyed and the cry for liberty is heard all around the world. Now we have the freedom, use it wisely.
Why the bombings, killings, destruction of lives and properties. What do you gain from violence? Why do you have to kill another man for what's his? He worked hard to get that, you should work for yours. Let's make peace around the world before it gets so bad that we would wish we had made a change.
The time has come when we needn't think about ourselves alone but about others. Someone must have cared for you. Care for someone. The recent earthquake in Haiti that claimed the lives of over 200,000 people is a sign to tell us, the time has come. There are many wolves in sheep clothings around so you have to be careful. Religious leaders who hide under the roof of their religious beliefs and cause destruction to the world. Remember that entering heaven is not by religion but by good deeds. What goodness have you done to mankind?
Footballers count goals to win trophies, Musicians counts albums to win awards, what do you count the number of people you kill for? Stop killings, rapes, destructions and violence and see to it that the world becomes a better place. There are people dying, will you care for them? They need you. The world needs you. You are the greatest change the world has been waiting for. It's not about how much you have but how many you have helped. Be remembered for good deeds not by evil deeds.
What is this time? It's the time to HEAL THE WORLD.

US BLACKLISTED NIGERIA A TERRORIST NATION (BIAS US)

, , , ...

The US blacklisted NIGERIA with ten other countries a terrorist nation. The 23 years old Nigerian named FAROUK ABDULMUTALIB was said to have attempted bombing a plane in US haven been caught with explosives inside the plane. The action of this young Nigerian should not have been used to judge the whole country by the US. Nigerian authorities have been helping the US authorities in investigations and now the US blacklisted NIGERIA a terrorist nation. The young man was not bread in NIGERIA. This act by the US is uncalled for and unacceptable to NIGERIA. A BRITISH man did same in 2001 haven tried to bomb a plane flying from BRITIAN to BOSTON. BRITIAN was not stigmatised, why should NIGERIA be. This shows the bias nature of some AMERICANS against the blacks. Are they scared of BRITISH or is it because they're white nation. NIGERIA will prove to the US as a nation that we're not what they think we are. How NIGERIANS are been stigmatised by the US is painful. You help someone and expect to be praised, but you are booed atlast and the world still enjoys your positive contribution.
