Something Smells

Don’t get misty-eyed and emotionally carried away with all the
thundering oratory about “change” in this campaign. The buzzword of this election is “change.” Candidates toss it around without saying what they want to change to.
Years ago, there was an old tale in the Marine Corps about a lieutenant who inspected his Marines and told the “Gunny” that they smelled bad. The lieutenant suggested that they change their underwear.
The “Gunny” responded, “Aye,aye, sir. I’ll see to it immediately.” He went into the tent and said, “The lieutenant thinks you smell bad and he wants you to change your underwear. Smith, you change with Jones, McCarthy, you change with Witkowskie, Brown, you change with Schultz …”
A candidate may promise change in Washington but the stink of years will remain.
The Media is only interested getting rid of Bush, and turning our country into a European style socialistic, secular system, which isn’t working well for them, and it will not work well for us, but they believe the Democrats will get that done for them, and perhaps they will, plus the end of the war, (which I like), but that's the only things I think will change. The stink of Socialism hangs over our country like a green fog.
Ron Paul knows what needs to be changed, and he told us what they were, but his ideas are too radical for them, and for most of the citizens of this country right now, but I believe that radical change is the only thing that will save us. Otherwise we will go the way of the Roman Empire.
So true my friend, so true.

You are right in trying to stay away from politics it only creates problems for you no matter which way you go. Congressman Ron Paul does have a record of standing up for what he says and his ideas are good for the average taxpayer, but he does not have a chance of being elected to the Presidency. The stink is still too heavy and he has not been doing the typical back scratching to garner support from other politicians which is a great aid, or so it would seem to be, in becoming elected to the highest office in the land.
Even though I would agree with him on many things I have to disagree with him on his stance against war. Ron Paul says we should sit down and talk to those people that would make every effort to destroy the US people and any other infidels they might come across, like Israel. Ron Paul says there are just talking, he said the Soviet Union leaders said almost the same thing “they would bury us” and we did nothing. He was wrong there because we fought the Cold War against the Soviets even though it was not a shooting war, as such. If our great country (as much as it stinks) had not continually forced the issues, displayed our strength and followed the nuclear deterrent capability that we developed we would have taken a chance of losing that Cold War. What does one think our country would be like now if the Soviets thought they had the upper hand on the United States?
I do not like war and I would like to think that there are few US Citizens that do like war.But we can not afford to be an isolationist country as we were before the Second World War and I believe we must stay prepared for any alternative and remain a superpower that is capable of waging a war anywhere in the world, if that becomes necessary. I will not go into all the reasons that the present war against terror is being waged but I feel that the present efforts in Islamic countries are a necessity to keep the terrorists from coming to our country and waging their jihads.
