E PLURIBUS UNUM

One Among Many, No Better, No Worse, Just A Wayfaring Stranger

The Best Day Of My Life

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!

There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate! Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart. I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds.

Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice. Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know. Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special they are, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for her and how much she means to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me. I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine. And tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.

As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!

That's great, I'm glad you liked it. It also made me smile when I read it.
I wish I had written it, but I'm not that good. I'm just happy to be able to share these great writings with others.
As always, thank you Stardancer, for coming over and leaving an encouraging comment.

Some great thoughts there and it is true if we allowed ourselves to be free from some of the trivial things that bother us and concentrate on the wonderful things and people of our lives we could certainly make every day our best day. Thanks so much for that reminder.

You are welcome Edward, and thank you for your comment, you are right of course, and I think this is an ideal that we should all strive for, but I do not know anyone who has achieved this on an everyday basis. I think you said it well when you said, "It is true if", and that is a pretty hard IF. This isn't something that comes easy, infact I don't think it's even possible on our own. I believe only through God can we achieve this, and then only if we allow Him to guide our every thought and action. There goes that big IF again.
Being mere humans, we can not be free from mistakes all of the time, and sometimes these mistakes can ruin part of our day.
There was only one human who was totally good and mistake free, and we crucified Him.
I have had a good day today, I would not quite consider it to be the best day of my life, but it was good. I hope yours was too. Thanks again Edward, it's always good to hear from you.

I also am glad you stopped by Jill. Here's wishing you and all of yours a happy and blessed July also.
July is my month, I was born exactly one week after the 4th of July. Many moons ago. That's not really a big deal, except that, unlike most older folks, I always look forward to my next birthday, knowing that the Lord has kept me around one more year, so He must have something more that He wants me to do.
Take care and God Bless.

Happy birthday month, Larry. Yes, God has reasons, purposes for you and your life presently, "...for a future and a hope." Jer. 29... I've been working on the verse (NASB) "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10

"Scripture taken from the NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE®,

I hope your birthday is wonderful!

Thanks Jill, I love that scripture, and the NASB is my favorite translation.

mine, too! I'm reading NCV this summer & CEV. I like New Living a lot, and The Message, too... have you studied in these?

I have a software program on my computer that has 12 translations, but I'm not familier with the NCV, or the CEV. I do have a copy of the New Living Translation, which I read sometimes. I tend to skip around from one to the other, but one I've been reading a lot lately, and I like it quite well, is the English Standard Version (ESV) which just came out in 2001. It is also one of the 12 I have on my software.

I collect old Bibles, and the one I'm looking for now, is the old American Standard Version (ASV), that came out in 1901. It's out of print, but I can get a used copy from Amazon, which I think I will order next week.

I'm sure you know about BibleGateway.com that has about 50 different Bibles in many different languages.

Thanks Jill, have a great 4th of July, and God Bless.

You, too, Larry, have a good Fourth! ESV is what we are using in church now. I like that one, too. Neat about the Bibles, I suppose my spouse would say I collect them, too, since I'm often picking one up at the used bookstore. I love cookbooks, too

studylight.org is the Bible page I use most online. I've used Bible Gateway, too.

God bless.
