It's just life

After I started using Wordpress, I've come to ask myself if there's ANY FTP client in the world that can actually transfer all the files of a Wordpress installation to a new server reliably. Almost all the time, any and all FTP clients I use will time out or f*ck up one or more files, so that I will have to start my sleuthing activities to identify where it went wrong. The same thing is true for uploading big plugins etc.

What is going on here? Am I supposed to expect and accept this behaviour? It seems really wrong. I'm starting to look into unzipping files directly on the server...
