Life with Linux pt. 1

There's two ways to get in the pool. One is to get in slowly while adjusting to the water. The other way is to jump right in, I jumped right in. My closer friends will tell you I've been fighting an uphill struggle against this operating system, and I think I've got it right finally. My computer doesn't crash any more like it used to, though it's still prone to when the memory gets overloaded. Now for my initial impressions.

Linux is fuckin hard. In windows everything was laid out for you. You had my computer whcih monitored all your stuff, you had the C drive with it's different preset folders to put everything. In linux there is only one default folder, and it's name is "/" pronounced "root". You have to make everything else.

Aside from that, linux has another problem, fuckin hippies make it. These hippies in particular are against anything not deemed free software. They loathe large corporations and are even against Opera. In my opininion opera has gained much traction because it doesn't have fuckin google or microsoft behind it, but that's another story. I hate hippies, but I love linux, god I'm torn. Also because of these hippies, mp3s, the most common music format, cannot be played within linux. Linux.

Next time I'll talk about productivity apps.

The Evolution Of Facebook.

I believe I speak for the vast minority when I say, I like the evolution of Facebook. Dont get me wrong however, some things are better left on the pages and not in the feeds: e.g relationship status etc. but the feeds are an extremely useful way to keep up with your friends. By friends, I mean the people you actually know. This should be a rude awakening to those of you who have 1000+ friends. Really, if you didn't want little billy from UAB to see what you were doing in the first place, you have absolutely no reason to get mad now that it's easier for him to see this information. I myself have close to 200 friends, and am about to start downsizing seriously. I know ladies out there get about 30 posts a day from guys, but do you have to add them just cause they ask you too? Just so they can go on your wall and try to hook up with u over the internet (or vice versa)? All the feeds have done is shown you people how limited your security actually is over the net. But it's not a dark horse, the feeds keep friends in contact with friends, and let's all your friends know how you're doing. It's an extremely innovative feature, but it would probably done better as a subscription rather than a default.

Um...

does anyone read this stuff? I imported it to Facebook for purposes of feedback, might send it to myspace too, otherwise the Logic Bomb might die, real talk.

Why would the human mind mistake virginity as a virtue rather than a barrier between ignorance and knowledge?
