Time's No Chain

Some Might Say that Sunshine Follows Thunder ... let's wait and see ;-)

A Moment of Clarity

, , , ...

I’ve just realized that I’ve been listening to the same playlist since I got up this morning, well … there is only one item in my playlist: Stop Crying your Heart Out, definitely one of my favourite songs ever, by one of my favourite bands; Oasis. Though I consider myself more like a metalhead, I have to say that I instantly felt in love with this song, it even managed to mess up with the “emo” inside of me (yep … and he’s been in here for about a decade now) making me feel hopeful, relaxed, and much less doubtful about my future …
Oh and Liam, Liam, Liam … what can I say about his voice … I can’t recall any picture of him without a halo over his head

Hope you'll enjoy it too.

Stop Crying your Heart Out Live in Top of the Pops

Lyrics

Hold up
Hold on
Don't be scared
You'll never change what's been and gone

May your smile (may your smile)
Shine on (shine on)
Don't be scared (don't be scared)
Your destiny may keep you warm

'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them some day
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

Get up (get up)
Come on (come on)
Why're you scared? (i'm not scared)
You'll never change what's been and gone

'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them some day
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

'Cause all of the stars
Are fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see them some day
Take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

We're all of us stars
We're fading away
Just try not to worry
You'll see us some day
Just take what you need
And be on your way
And stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out ...

Thank you Oasis for this moment of clarity ...
C'mon Noel, stop breaking the hearts of Oasis fans

Exhaled Breath to Detect Cancer

, , ,

Over the years, scientists have worked on ways to detect diseases in exhaled breath. The most popular success in this domain is the breathalyzer which estimates blood alcohol content: it’s a cheap, simple, noninvasive and portable equipment, none of these characteristics are available in other breath analyzing technics.

A new research of the Israel Institute of Technology conducted by Hossam Haik (On List of 35 Leading Young Scientists in the World) and his team; which appears in the current issue of Nature Nanotechnology; was able to make a huge step forward: the team was able to devise a sensor system made from nine chemiresistors that respond to the biomarkers of the lung cancer by altering their electrical properties. The chemiresistors were assembled from gold nanoparticles functionalized with different organic compounds, they were capable of detecting the cancer biomarkers within a wide range of concentrations, but best of all the reaction was reversible meaning they can be reused. At this stage the researchers point out their need for a wider population of volunteers to study the influence other factors such as: diet, genetics … on the reliability of the test.

The authors neglect to mention if they will try to figure out how sensitive their sensors are to different stages of lung cancer. All of the cancer subjects in this study had primary stage-3 or stage-4 lung cancer, so the disease had already progressed significantly. It would be important to know if their sensors are useful in stages 1 and 2 of the disease, as being able to diagnose patients in earlier stages would vastly improve their chances of survival.

Haick’s team has proven possible the reliable diagnosis of lung cancer using portable equipment without the need to any of the formerly required breath pretreatments and that there is definitely room for further development.

Need a Little Time to Wake Up !

OMG!! I'm starting a blog in English, I've never written more than 15 lines using English :o: , guess this could be an opportunity to practice the little I know, it could even be the core of this blog (along with some music / automotive / geek/ scientific content). Right now, and being new to the world of blogging, I'm just going through the available options so don't be disgusted and be sure to come back for some exciting (or at least not this boring) stuff :D
