I've owned the Compaq PA-1 [ about 10 years ago! ], Olympus MR100, meizu m6, Cowon X5, Cowon U3, Sansa E250r and Touch 2G.
The Cowon and Apple devices have been wonderful for specific Niches. The X5 for in long road trips, the Touch 2G for apps and lossless audio and the U3 for walking or jogging listening to podcasts.
I tried the beautiful Nokia E51 with Grado headphones and a A2DP receiver for a while but now that I'm carrying an E71 with 8GB microSDHC it seems redundant.
I walk an hour almost every night with the U3 in had but now it has write errors. Time for another player.
The iriver E100.
Honestly I just wanted a smaller U3 with higher flash capacity to wear around my neck but that market seems to be abandoned even by aigo, which seemed incredible popular in China [ as a fashion accessory ] a few years back but cowon has let me down and the iriver volcano does not ship in 8GB capacity.
My hope is to put a dozen lossless albums on the internal 8GB flash and install an 8GB microSDHC for my podcasts so do not burn out the flash.
I ordered the E100 from J&R and the 8GB microSDHC from meritline.
