I read blogs for a living

And I think I like it

The rise of social media

Mashable writes:

2009 is the year of social media. Once, Twitter was a place where you could read about someone else’s cat. Now, it’s the first place you go to when there’s breaking news.

Makes me think of how blogging works at My Opera. Hm.

For starters there should be a "retweet" button

I wonder if a person can make blogs in Opera

OBVIOUSLY WRITTEN IN A DECENT WAY
this will either cause the page not to display, or simply mods delete it.

antwap, what the **** are you talking about?

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, April 18, 2009 11:23:00 AM

Twitter is the last place I go when there's breaking news. The perpetuation of the "first to post is the best and right" principle is what put me off the place. Well, that and the cats. It's amazing how much can be misrepresented in 140 characters.

I think blogging is cool in my opera, where you have different features!yes
Twitter i think is quite over hyped!rolleyes
atleast twitter lacks in all the scripts and smileys!bigsmile headbang

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, April 18, 2009 10:55:39 PM

To be fair Twitter isn't really about smileys and HTML action. It's about communicating from anywhere (PC, text message from phone, smoke signals) for the sort of people who don't know they can access most websites on the go anyway.

But you're right, it is completely overhyped. Mostly because people give it credit for their actions on there.
