I read blogs for a living

And I think I like it

My favorite skate punk rock albums (and bands)

Here are some of my favorite skate punk rock bands and albums of all time! The links in this article are for Spotify users. If you don't have Spotify, then search for the songs using Grooveshark or something. smile

NOFX - Punk In Drublic (1994)

Ah, NOFX... This was my introduction to punk rock. So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes was the first album I purchased, but Punk In Drublic has to be my favorite album. NOFX will allways be a favorite.

Suggested song: Linoleum.

Millencolin - For Monkeys (1997)

This band is from Sweden and the name Millencolin is derived from the skateboard trick "melancholy". They play fun, fast and short songs. I don't feel their recent stuff is too good, but this album is a classic. They also like monkeys. banana

Suggested song: Puzzle.

Lagwagon - Let's Talk About Feelings (1998)

Friday classic! I listen to this album almost every Friday to get in a good mood. First time I heard of Lagwagon was in a Snowboard movie called "Decade". I recommend you check out both the movie and this band.

Suggested song: May 16.

Pennywise - Full Circle (1997)

When me and my friends started tasting beer in our late teens we always listened to Pennywise, and especially "Bro Hymn". I still drink beer sometimes and I still listen to Pennywise. smile

Suggested song: Society.

Social Distortion - White Light, White Heat, White Trash (1996)

This album is fantastic. It has that timeless feeling to it. It will survive almost any decade and any trends. Many tracks has been used in skate-, snow-, and bmx video games. cool

Suggested song: Don't drag me down.

Wait, that's not all. I also recommend you check out the following bands:

The Vandals, Strung Out, The Bouncing Souls, Goldfinger, No Use For A Name, Hot Water Music, Rise Against, The Livind End and Pulley.

If you're into this genre of music, have I missed something? What are your favorites?

A friend went to SXSW and all I got was this t-shirtFoxy
