I read blogs for a living

Yes. My girlfriend Meghan will be visiting from California October 3-November 7. I will be off from work that last week, so if you wanted to visit before your Canada trip, it would be very convenient. You can stay for as long as you'd like!

Quite welcome to come down here anytime during that following week, but the week afterwards I'll be in Houston on a mini-vacation myself. Only problem I see is that it's a long flight and a good bit of money for a short visit, but you're welcome to come.

If you do come about the only entertaining thing to do around here is eat, but the food is great.

I can't get any days off from work during that time, but usually we have a couch wide open for visitors. If you find someone around Washington DC, it's one of the best trips I've ever had in the USA.

Next year you should come over and go to Burning Man with us.

We've been members since spring, nothing but positive experiences - though expect to spend some time answering requests if you live in or around Oslo and sign up! Living in an expensive city with lots of cheap flights means many people will try couchsurfing )

North America is a big place. I am in Vancouver, only about a 3 hour plane ride,(or 5 day drive) from Ottawa. Us Vancouverites say that there are only about 500 sq. kms of land in Canada that are truly fit for human habitation (reasonable temperatures year round) and that is where we live. If you make it here, you are welcome on our couch. Besides,
