I read blogs for a living

And I think I like it

What should I read next?

I'm on a hunt to find a new book to read. The best novels I've ever read has been recommendations from friends and family, so I'm giving it a go here as well: What should I read next? I'm interested in anything from the classics to new fiction. Anything goes, as long as it's a good read!

My favorite book from one of the best Czech fantasy authors smile (but I'm not sure how good is the English translation)

LOL. I just finished reading "The Reversal". It's not a very sophisticated stuff. And won't be the best novel you have ever read. Nevertheless, it's a page turner. I read it to pass time while on the road, and found it to be quite entertaining. Its kind of like those Dan Brown novels. Trashy, but entertaining.

Edit: I came back and edited my post because comparing Connely with Brown is just now fair. In the reversal the characters are well defined and interesting. I thought that the plot as quite simple. But, other than that its a really good entertainer.

I quite like John Grisham, pick any of his novels if you'd like a taste of some legal fiction.

Try The lost Symbol by Dan Brown. up

Uncle MickMickeyjoe-Irl Monday, December 27, 2010 6:01:23 PM

I started reading Trudi Canavan and have been enjoying all her books.

The Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Card are excellent.

So is Spike Milligan's series of War Memoirs.

And the Sookie Stackhouse books are pretty good too.

I like Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta books, though I found they were getting a bit "samey" The last couple have been better.

And if you would be into Harry Potter, you could check out Darren Shan.

I think I'd better stop now.

Dustin WilsonKhadgar Wednesday, December 29, 2010 7:44:24 AM

I've been told this one's rather good. It's about bacon — at the very least an interesting topic.

For understanding Aleks a bit more it might be necessary to read this one, and if he reads this I'm going to be banned.

Assuming (a) you're talking fiction, and (b) you haven't seen the movie, I'd recommend The Road (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Road).

The movie is surprisingly good (a perfect adaptation I'd say), but you're asking for books ;-)

Oh! I forgot The God of Small Things...

I finally got around to reading The Catcher in the Rye, a classic here in the States, but one I'd somehow avoided. It was ok. Not sure what all the hubbub is about. But for some reason I think you'd like it and the main character, Holden. devil

It's quite short, too. Only took me a couple of days to get through it.

Adonis @ my.opera /friendspartyworldAdonisali Sunday, January 16, 2011 11:11:37 PM

Making a choice is a hard thing to do, as knows ayla, the main protagonist of the bookseries the earth, and it is no easier if you do have more to choose about. The bookseries is written by Jean Auel and starts with The clan of the cavebear. If you want to read only one book, start with this one, about face gestures and sign language and being fast while thinking of being slow.

Climate and The Affairs of Men - Nels Winkless & Iben Browning.
explains quite alot about quite alot. Still available here and there nearly new. Goes in depth about which areas suffered in warming and mini ice age cycles. Born out of the navigation for 'Skylab' by volcanoes instead of stars.

A book of love, laughter and how to deal with the things you get your money from. Also slightly about computer business in a less nice way: harlequin of MORRIS WEST.
do you ever have found a book of bookcrossing.com ? I did: everything and more is the title and well it is all about glamour and love. It is a little bit about being manipulated. And that is something i have a feeling to be experiencing a lot lately. And i read a bond story about iran. Devil may care. Not written by ian fleming btw. And again manipulation. It seems to be quite popular to me.
