Polar bears with black eyes

Last weekend we went to Beijing Zoo, accompanied by Andrew and his lovely wife from Poland. We got to see the highly awesome Panda Bears. They were amusing to watch. One of the Pandas woke up to do some public stretching before he took another nap. Very nice.

If you ever go to Beijing and want to visit the Zoo, beware: Most of the animals lives in horrible conditions. You need some strong nerves to do a full tour of the Zoo. The Panda Bears were the only ones with good conditions. They have descent space and a steady supply of bamboo. They looked pretty happy.

Inside Beijing Zoo you can also visit the brand new Aquarium! I can recommend a trip here. The fishes and marine mammals have clean water tanks and everything is in mint condition.

That's really sad. Hope they get the conditions fixed soon.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is the only Zoo in the world where animals are treated like this. It worried me knowing that I had paid for this service and helped fund the park, but it's really hard to know how it's like in there without visiting.

I agree, unfortunately it's not the only zoo in the world.
Also not only just the zoo's but private people and in the wild are being mistreated by humans.
Sighs.

It is hard to realise that people are also treated like animals, even if you have done a lot for community and "too old" and recalcitrant. It is a life in prison even if it is not even that long. And even if people care, it is sad.

We have pandas in Adelaide too. I think they're on 'loan' from China. It was such a big event when they arrived here. Though, I have no urge to see them. Last time I was at the zoo, all the animals did was sit in the far corner and sit....and sit some more.

Well consider that at night time there is nothing to do and they can hardly be activated during the day, especially when you donot come to visit them.
