Sony admits utter PSN failure: your personal data has been stolen

Sony has finally come clean about the "external intrusion" that has caused the company to take down the PlayStation Network service, and the news is almost as bad as it can possibly get. The hackers have all your personal information, although Sony is still unsure about whether your credit card data is safe. Everything else on file when it comes to your account is in the hands of the hackers.

This is one reason I'm glad I don't even own a credit card. awww.
This could theoretically happen with any company. scared.

I'm glad I'm not a PSN user. I'm a proud Nintendo user, for that matter smile

I'm one of the lucky few who've used a custom password for PSN and had no credit card on file. All they got was my name and address — information easily gathered elsewhere.

That doesn't change the fact that this blows hard. Doubtful I'll own another Sony product despite the fact I really love my PS3.

The hack was not by some sony part but most likely some security bug in a 3rd part or 1st part program with the rest of the industry has to look out for now

That happens to bad down companies that not support to GNU/Linux penguin , perhaps it is a divine punishment of Saint IGNUcius angel

That's ridiculous. And the email they sent out really sounded as if they tried to make it sound less serious than it actually is.
That really sucks, Sony! down
