2.Issue: Skype taking over... ?

So it seems Skype is really starting to take over. Personally I love it (Skype) though I'm not
really using it yet. But it's a great thing in my opinion. And it seems it's really getting the
foot through the door now.
Last week I got three calls from australia (I live in Germany).
And if even my Computer-illiterate aunt can make good use of Skype with only little help in the beginning, then it means that it is taking over now .
And from what you see and hear, it's taking over pretty fast.
So I start to wonder...
how much time left till Skype (or other free voice-over-ip services) is the standard in telecommunication?
I say it will be in the next 5 to 8 years max.
