We have been wondering how you write a blog on a recent success without looking or rather sounding like we are bragging. Anyway here I go. The day started quite like unusual. We had changed the dates due to a last minute venue dispute(it’s a very high trafficked venue) and spent the better part of our night with our significant others, no I'm kidding we were running around making sure that our friends and their friends knew of the changes and that all the equipment necessary would be there.
Friday the ninth of October, two classes till the Demo starts(had a very crucial Engineering Math lecture) hearts pounding, silent prayers being said to make the day a success and then the buzz of hustle and bustle, things needed and were done in seconds. At last the Demo stand was ready comprising of laptops, screens for slideshows, woofers for entertainment, registration forms and volunteers for all the work.
Amazing team indeed we have here.
Work was divided diligently and to ones appropriate strengths. More than two hundred students and eleven lectures attended the event.
All was as planned, some OCC members would direct passers-by from the adjacent road while others explained from the slides about Opera Software. Much emphasis was put on the newly released Opera 10, OCC was our third stage where they were given a thorough break down of the OCC and its activities including the curriculum.
Those with their laptops, flash-disks and any mass storage devices were given an opportunity to get the software. At this point registration forms were handed out to those willing to join OCC, of which many were.
Our final stage was to show appreciation to those that had taken their time from their busy schedule to attend. We gave out "LOVE YOUR BROWSER" badges and a few pens. All in all attendance was so good we had to go for another batch of registration form (Zara can vouch for that from the high number of newly applications.) This thing has really grown and planning to make it an ICT club at the beginning of next. Please give suggestions on some of the names you think is cool. I know you are very good in that.
