U2 3D

On Wednesday evening, I went with a friend of mine to an IMAX theatre to see the concert film, U2 3D. That site has trailers and other videos about the film for you to watch.

The movie is about 85 minutes long featuring U2 in concert. I haven't seen a 3D movie in many years. I remember when the 3D glasses looked like this. The ones we wore the other night looked like a pair of sunglasses. It has also been years since I've been to an IMAX theatre. Combining both was an awesome experience. The movie was filmed using digital 3D technology to make you feel like you are live at a concert. It looks like you are a member of the crowd in sight & sound. When drinks are thrown in the air, it looks like they are about to land on you. The band members seem to be in your face, like you could reach out and shake their hands. The music is great and you can see how well the band interacts with the audience.

I enjoyed the music as much as the visuals in this film. If you have friends that are huge U2 fans, get them to see this film, if they haven't already done so. Even if you are not a big fan of U2, you will still be delighted by this experience.

IMAX is amazing. I saw a Rolling Stones concert movie and even without 3D I was blown away.

I also heard that there's an IMAX version of the new Batman movie bigeyes

Hi Mickey, They had the posters for the new Batman film up at the IMAX theatre the other night. Think I might go see it at the IMAX instead of the regular theatre.
