A Sixth Mix of 6 and the Park
Monday, 30. July 2007, 04:15:40
Today (Sunday) I went for a walk with a friend of mine, and her dog (Kuma), at a state park that's nearby. She called me earlier this morning and we made plans to go for a walk. We had not done that in a while and we had talked about it before, so we decided to do that today.
She came over and we went to the state park. Neither of us had walked there before, so this was a new experience for the both of us. There are miles of trails in this park along with campgrounds too. We pulled up to the visitor center and I grabbed a map. Without that map we would have been lost for a long time. We drove to one of the parking lots and started down the trail to the biggest lake that's in the park. We had stopped somewhere and gotten some food before hand, so we sat on a bench and ate. Her dog jumped in the lake for a swim. I'm mad that I forgot to bring my camera with me. I could have gotten some good pictures if I had remembered it
After we finished eating we started walking around. She had the map and we made a wrong turn down a dirt road. We eventually realized our mistake and turned around. We kept walking around, chatting and enjoying the great weather today. It was partially sunny and not too hot outside. I took the leash from her and walked Kuma. While we were walking I felt a tug on the leash and I turned to see what the dog was doing. I turned around and there was a deer staring at the dog and us. The deer was about 40 feet away from us in the woods off the dirt road. The dog had already spotted it and was staring at it. Kuma started towards the deer and it took running into the woods. Kuma tried following the deer and if I didn't have a good grip on it, she would have chased the deer into the woods. That was the only deer we say today and I've heard that there's lots of them in the park. We walked around more and ended back up at the parking lot where she had parked her car. It was a good time and maybe some more of us will go walking there again another time. I'm not sure how long we walked but it was probably around 3miles or so I'm guessing.

There weren't any ducks or geese anywhere in sight at the park. They were probably at another park getting fed by people.
