Another Open Letter to the MyOpera Team

Dear MyOpera Team,
I am writing to you today because I have some issues that I would like for you to fix quickly. First off, some friends of mine have recently been upset by asinine members of this site leaving them inappropriate comments and/or messages. One person even blocked the member that was upsetting them, but that person was STILL able to get onto my friend's page and leave a really inappropriate comment on one of their pictures in the photo album bigeyes They were able to do this because that a$$hole had added my friend to his friend's list. Now what kind of crap is that? If you block a person, they should be BLOCKED and unable to comment and message the member that blocked them!

Second, you need to change the way that adding friends is being done. It needs to be done like Yahoo IM, Myspace, and others do it; you have to approve a person's request before they can add you to their friends list! Some people have added me to their friends list that I want nothing to do with because of the content of their pages, and comments that they have left on people's blogs. I would greatly appreciate a "friends request" system like seen on other sites, as would many other members of this community.

Third, There is currently no way for me to edit my friends list. I have tried to make changes to it and the "Edit Friends" option is now MIA. leftright Where did it go? Please return it very soon.

Fourth, on a recent post I tried to upload a song to the post and the song seemingly uploaded to this site. When I tried to put it on my blog post, it wasn't there. I tried to delete it and upload it again and got the same results. Only now, I have 2 of the same song file in my Files folder and can't delete either one irked

Fifth, whenever I type a message into my Shoutbox, I don't need a message in my Inbox that says, "FXM256 posted a message in your shoutbox!" I already know that, duhhh!

I must say that I enjoy this community and feel quite at home here. I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people from around the world, and some have become good friends smile Please fix the issues that I've outlined very soon and MyOpera will be an even more enjoyable place for all of us up

I agree with each thing you've said and hope that they will take your post into consideration. I'd hate to see them losing members due to issues like the ones which have been mentioned. I'm sure that all of these are relatively easy fixes, so let's hope something is done soon! *crosses fingers*

Thank you Karen smile I'm upset about some of the things that have happened to some friends recently, and all this can be fixed. I'm sure they have lost some members because of issues and hope that the Opera monkey Army gets cracking!

i most definitely agree with all that you have said. i had a friends only post that someone was able to get into, that is NOT even a member of Opera at all.

And while we're ragginf on the Opera team, how about the fact that in the blogs, anyway, I don't know about Lounge, etc, when we press the Enter Key, it puts in 2 "\ n"s, instead of one. I always used to separate my paragraphs, being a long winded type, with 2 lines, for the readablility of my admiring minions. Now, see what we get:

idk how they did it, but yes, they were able to access my friends only post
i had to make it a private post, so that NO ONE could even comment there ne more
and its a good thing i did make it private, cuz when he was telling me about the post, he was actually looking for it
i made it private, when he had all of a sudden out of nowhere, messaged me and said he wanted to talk to me about something i blogged on
i made it private just in time for him NOT to b able to access it again
pist me off to no end, that someone that is not even an Opera member, can get into a friends only post

i pist him off once...and he stole my SqueakeyCat rare that i had made on yahoo
thats how i know what he can do
not to mention that he took pics of me that were given to him in confidence, and made a website out of them
then, when he decided he wasn't pist ne more, he took the site down
from what i know about the site though, it got more than 1 million hits in a weeks time

but its probably true, that none of the opera team has even looked at this post, as they don't even look at the posts for them in the forums that they need to address concerning issues with the browser
