"Iron Man" movie review

Read the review, see the clips below.

Heroes aren't Born. They're Built.

I recently went to see Iron Man at the movie theatre. You can read what the critics have to say here.

Iron Man stars Robert Downey Jr. as industrialist Tony Stark; Terrence Howard as Jim Rhodes; Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane; Gwyneth Paltrow as Tony's personal assistant, Pepper Potts; Leslie Bibb as reporter Christine Everhart; Shaun Toub as Yinsen; Faran Tahir as Raza.

The movie begins in Afghanistan. Tony Stark is part of a military convoy on his way back from demonstrating a new weapon from his company, Stark Industries, to the military brass. His convoy is ambushed and he is wounded in the attack. He awakes in a cave to find that he is a prisoner along with Yinsen, of a group of terrorists. The terrorists, led by Raza, have Stark Industries weapons and want Tony to build them his newest weapon. Instead, Tony & Yinsen build a suit of armor that Tony uses to escape his captors. The suit malfunctions after his escape, stranding him in the desert. He wanders along and is eventually rescued by American troops that have been looking for him for 3 months. Tony returns home, holds a press conference where he announces that his company is pulling out of the weapons business, which surprises everyone. Tony feels guilty for how his weapons are being used by terrorists in Afghanistan. He decides to right the wrongs by building the Iron Man armor.

Iron Man has stuck more to the comics than some comic book movies have before. This is refreshing for the comic book fans such as myself. I hate to go to a movie derived from a comic book, only to see that they have totally changed it around. :irked: That was not the case in this film. Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark very well, like he was made for this part. Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard and the rest of the cast all play their roles very well. There are more funny moments in this film than I expected, which add to the story. The special effects are great, including the CGI, which is not too over-the-top. Iron Man is a pretty good movie that I would recommend for others to go see.

Below are some clips from Iron Man:

Hi Becky, this is one of the better comic book movies that I have seen. I want to see The Dark Knight when it comes out later this summer too.

I've to say that Batman is not my favourite one. But I real guess that this movie will be the best of them (I dont like Christian Bale, but the story worths a lot), and besides the special effects will give a ggod plus to the movie.

Ironman really impressed me. Superpassed my expectations.

I really enjoyed Batman Begins, so I'm hoping that this new Batman movie is as good as that one. Batman is not my favorite either; Spider-man is one of my favorites.

I had heard some good things about Iron Man before I went to see it. I can say that it did live up to my expectations.

I liked the conflict around him and who he really thought he was... but emo? :yuck:

Hi Sarah & Rose, I got a bit carried away with the clips.

Asha loves Iron Man, he entered this drawing contest to win all this stuff from the movie, course he's too young to watch it.

Batman is way better than Spiderman. Somebody name one good thing about a spider :right:

That would be  if Asha won a prize! I'm ready to see the new Batman movie when it comes out later this summer.

Hi Rhona, remember, if there were no spiders there would be tons of more bugs than there already are.
