A Start

Well, here I am... And it's all thanks to the influence of my 3 1/2 year old daughter Evie. I never thought that I would get a start to a blog until now. There are so many meaningful reasons for starting just now and because of her, but it was something incredible (to me) that she did the other day that inspired me. What a better start than to write about it...
The other day Evie brought a to her day care and by the end of the day it had disappeared. When her Mommy came to pick her up Evie explained that somebody had taken her that she received at a birthday party blowout (y'know the party favors that you blow and the paper part blows out) recently. She declared that it was not nice that somebody had taken her blowout and that she was going to write a note to post on the door of the day care announcing that "you should not take things". Later that night Evie's intent to put a stop to "taking things" at her day care was made known to me. Then she explained that she wanted to write another note - just to do it. Since then Evie has written a note nearly everyday.
So, I thought how neat it would be if I encouraged Evie to write more and everyday. She amazes me everyday at just how brilliant and creative she is that I imagined how fulfilling it would be for her to be able express herself about anything and everything on a daily basis. And writing notes daily, even though she cannot read or write (exactly), I felt would only encourage her. Hence, I have made a start...myself!
