My wishes as developer and designer:
Killing most regressions since Opera 6
Killing even more bugs
Improved source editor:
- line numbering (w/o line numbering it’s just useless in most cases)
- improved coloring of source (HTML, JS, CSS, XML)
- find & replace
- word wrap
- tab size setting
Decent DOM inspector
Even more support for standards:
- all CSS 3 selectors with negations
- overflow-x / overflow-y from CSS 3 Box module
- downloadable fonts
- Support document() in XSLT
- XBL
My wishes as user:
Killing regressions and bugs
- bugs in zoom mode
- where are BAK files in Opera 9?
- HTML formatting (hate it, but sometimes need just emphasize some text)
- filter messages to Sent folder (Gmail POP)
- IMAP improvements
- folders (subfolders)
- keywords and nicknames for feeds (with ability to search)
- When you have selected Newsfeeds in panel, you should see all feeds, with ability to see only unreaded
- zoom
- render modes (fit to width, small screen)
- encoding
Search improvements
- Google suggest in search field
- search with default search engine if URL not start with http, ftp, https, etc…
- ability to apply keyboard shortcuts for all searches and translations
- highlight all checkbox in Find dialog
Browser stuff sync
- bookmarks

NTLM improvements (will see if it improves in 9.01 for me)
Drag n’ drop in Windows between applications
Rich text copy & paste
Print with page styles and graphic (not just unformatted text)
Update notification for skin, widgets, etc…
Widgets
- new version notificsation / update
- zoom should scale images smothly
- ability to select multiple options in select fields with keyboard only
Return back “bookmark star” and notes (make it documented and put them as available buttons at least) http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=123713
Saving a page:
- saving with original filename, not 8.3 DOS format

I didn't know Opera saves pages in 8.3 DOS format for file names. That's... bad.
