Findar on the road

Sprouts and tsiis

Today I got Brussels sprouts with "Riperkrite tsiis". All just for me. chef
I haven't had sprouts in years since I'm the only one in da house who likes them. Serving this must have been an act of pure love lol

So, what's that "Riperkrite tsiis"? It should't be to difficult when reading this blog entry in English. Tsiis is the Frisian word for cheese. It's a herbal-cheese.

Recipe:
Defrost the sprouts, boil them for 10 minutes, put them in the oven with cheese for 10 minutes
Boil potato slices for 10 minutes, put them in the oven with bechemel sause for 10 minutes.
Add a meatball or baconslice (Dutch bacon slices are 0,5 cm thick!)

Sorry no pics available.

The way I like it.OpenID

In parts of the US, a thick bacon-like cut of pork is called "fatback."
