About me
I am a Bulgarian student of business administration and philosophy (this fall start the first semesters) with one great fascination - cinema. World film has been a huge field of exploring the grounds of this love, but recently I began to question the traditional attitude of our nation towards our national cinematic culture - "Bulgarian cinema can be only that - Bulgarian cinema." I deeply believe, it has been and can be much more. Now, however, I feel it's prime purpose is to educate - itself and its audience. Cinema is far than simply a story - it's a language, an organism and memory. It can be as sublime as high music and literature and as expressive as theatre and art. It can also be more by combining them into the realm of History / Memory. It's immense power is yet to be realised in Bulgaria beyond the spirit of the Amusing. Its future is yet to be drawn with the colours of devotion and humility. But most of all, it is yet to be recognised as Art.
My work
I start this blog as a working place and, hopefully, a forum for discussions of Bulgarian cinema - its history, presence and future; its philosophy, economy and sociology; its parallels to world cinema and other arts. Primary, its relation to contemporary and yet-to-come audiences and how it can be as fully as possible perceived in its entirety.
