Good morning from Alabama.
I hope this message finds you well. It is funny to think that at various monasteries, people are retreating right now, while others of us are going about the daily business of work, summer camps, out-of-town visitors, barbecues, and so on.
Here are some upcoming opportunities to practice, plus a link to a very cool video that you can enjoy even if you are way too far from Alabama to come be with us in person.
1) Magnolia Village Retreat: this coming weekend.
Two sisters from Plum Village will be offering a retreat at Magnolia Village, in Batesville, Mississippi, where the lotus flowers are blooming. For more information, contact Ben at 662-563-2800 (w) or 662-832-1818 (c).
2) Suundae Forum: this Sunday morning, 9-10:15 a.m, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham.
Many of you have expressed an interest in practicing with us either closer to town or at a time different from Monday evenings. Here's your chance! This coming Sunday morning, I will be offering a practice session at the UU Church. All are welcome, whether you have been meditating for years or have never tried it.
3) Gladdening Our Hearts: a hearty thank you to Caroline in Scotland who forwarded the following link:

To me, it is a whole 'nother way of experiencing mindfulness. Enjoy!
As always, you are welcome to join us this coming Monday in Indian Springs from 7 until 9 p.m.
Our evenings are lovely, with time inside for sitting, luscious walks under the ever-changing sky, and sweet discussions that sometimes take place on swings!
Have a wonderful week.
